Not enough clarify about cost of software (to know what I'm buying) and the later cost of eFiling. For a senior on limited income the total cost has gotten HIGH so maybe I'll remove myself from the auto-renewal and just do my simple taxes on paper and mail them in. :0( This after using TurboTax for many years!!!

IT SEEMS THAT WHEN A PRODUCT OPTION IS SELECTED AND PURCHASED IN THE LATTER PART OF THE TAX YEAR (I.E. OCT,NOV, OR DEC 2022), IT IS A DIFFICULT PATHWAY TO NAVIGATE FROM THAT INITIAL PURCHASE TO A SUCCESSFUL FILING IN FEB, MARCH OR APRIL OF 2023.
WE THINK THAT THE SECURITY PROCESS IS GREAT BUT MAY CAUSE COORDINATION ISSUES WHEN THE CUSTOMER IS TRYING TO RETRIEVE THE ITEM PURCHASED AND INITIATE THE FILING EFFORT WITH THE PURCHASED PRODUCT. IT IS VERY FRUSTRATING AND ADDS TO THE FRUSTRATION LEVEL OF THE USER. THE PRODUCT ITSELF IS VERY GOOD, BUT THE PROCESS IS VERY, VERY FRUSTRATING

I like the walk thru the tax forms and details that explain any item I did not understand and also makes it easy to understand what is deductable.

1) It uses my first name - which I don't use - should be an option for preferred name.
2) And somehow, (second year) I miss doing a schedule E, for a rental property, and have to go to the forms to enter the data - obviously I am missing something.

TurboTax covers my needs, and the carryforward from previous years is useful. It is annoying that they keep trying to upsell you to higher level versions, audit defense, and so on. Basic works fine for 1099-B reporting, wages, retirement income and is all I need. The answers to questions is bogus, as it is just random people's ideas. I have not tried to use any of their "experts"
