Must have for any Harry Potter fan

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My son is a huge Harry Potter and Lego fan. So this Gryffindor set was a must have for him. Even though he is only 7years old and this set states 9 years and over he had no problem putting this together by himself. He loves playing with the included figures and comes up with all different kind of stories.
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My son was absolutely amazed by this lego set. He wanted to completely finish it on his own (he's 8) & he was able to finish it in 3 days. It's cool how the room folds up into a banner that can be hung up!

I was excited for the set, the aesthetic of it looks nice and the 3D image is cool, but it keeps breaking and is very flimsy. It is was frustrating to build, because it will fall apart. I love the other Harry Potter sets, but this one was not my favorite.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

If your set seems like it's not very sturdy, the best thing to do is double-check your build. Sometimes there may be a piece just a little off from where it should be. Love the aesthetics but…

Attaching the base plates to the back of the build was not great. Really feel a couple more pieces would’ve made this feel a lot sturdier. Will look cool on my wall! Love that it has a hanger included.

I’m so disappointed for my son, he bought two of these with his own money and we are left without any satisfaction. I think it was too expensive for what it was and the play factor is lacking.

Frustrating Build

I echo what some others have said. This was a very frustrating build for my advanced Lego builder. It kept falling apart as she was building it, to the extent that she was in tears multiple times. My husband and I were checking her progress as she went along, and we had a hard time keeping the set together, even though we checked multiple times to make sure pieces were in the proper place. The flate maroon pieces on the sides could've been one solid piece, but they're not, and I think that's the main problem. The worst part is she received this set and all the other Hogwarts house banner sets as gifts from her aunt and uncle, and now she has no desire to put the rest of them together.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
