Hire a better paint engineer.

After seeing lots of reviews about the flame going out from high winds, this burner will griddle in hurricane winds, that's why I gave it 3 stars. Granted that's what it's supposed to do. However, when it's comes to the paint job, well, Blackstone has penny pinched that area of production, and need to hire a new paint "engineer" and a better paint coating period. This paint job on here? Is 1 coat, direct to metal, no epoxy or metal primer underneath, just a VERY thin coat of "heat resistant" paint, that did NOT stick to the metal. I have painted for nearly 2 decades, and I know a paint job when I see it. This is a product made by someone who knows NOTHING about the attributes and processes of paint preparation, applications, and coatings. If you want, I'll come show yall how it's done.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Very good construction and size for what we need. Except the griddle has a part under the griddle the weld was not done properly and came off

I purchased the original 17" with hood. Came partially assembled with hood attached and griddle assembled so that was great. When finished I washed it and set up to light it up for seasoning. Would not light at all. After many attempts, found in the troubleshooting section that the igniter may be at issue. Had to remove the griddle, which was a pain, to find out that when assembled the igniter was almost touching the burner and in between gas holes. It needed to be 3-7 mm above the burner and directly over the burner hole. Once that was corrected it now lights every time. Apparently the 2 passed stickers on the unit don't include inspecting that! Now seasoned and ready to go! Thought I would pass that info on so someone else can get it fixed a lot faster than I did. Not the first Blackstone I ever used so I expect smooth sailing from here on.

Great cooktop! Camping must have. Has eliminated the use of any other cooking devices other than a single burning for perking coffee. Will be looking at upgrading the home bbq to a blackstone as the cooking results are the best!
