Fails after 1 year

I have had this dishwasher for a year. Looks brand new even but now it has stopped working, specifically it fills with water but will not start the wash cycle. Popular online diagnostics suggest I push the "normal button" and the "heated dry button." Problem is, there is no normal button, only "cycle" button. This procedure does not seem to work for the "cycle" button. I came here to check the manual online to see if there is a reset procedure listed here...well Whirlpool decided not to put the manual for this dishwasher online and cant find it anywhere else. Thanks whirlpool for screwing me over. Not that I have the money to buy a replacement anyway but I definitely will NEVER by your product again.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hello, We value your time and would like to look into the concerns with your Dishwasher. If your dishwasher is failing to start or operate, here is an expanded guide to common causes and detailed solutions, ensuring you retain the original facts and helpful tone. 1. Check for Standby or Sleep Mode Engagement Modern dishwashers often incorporate energy-saving features like Standby or Sleep Mode. If the unit has been inactive for a period, it may enter this low-power state and will not respond to cycle selection until it is properly awakened. Disable Sleep Mode: Before selecting your desired cycle and options, you must first "wake up" the control panel. This is typically done by pressing the START/RESUME button, the CANCEL button, or by simply opening the dishwasher door and then ensuring it is completely closed again. This action signals to the control board that an operation is about to be initiated. 2. Review for an Active Delay Wash Option The Delay Wash feature is designed to allow you to program the dishwasher to begin its cycle at a later, more convenient time, often coinciding with off-peak electrical utility hours. If this option is inadvertently selected, the dishwasher will appear unresponsive, waiting for the programmed delay time to elapse before starting the cycle. Identify and Disable Delay Wash: Check the control panel display for any indication of a delay timer (e.g., a number followed by 'H' for hours). Cancel the Delay: To turn off the Delay Wash feature and start the cycle immediately, press the CANCEL/DRAIN button. This action typically clears any active program or delay setting. Initiate the Cycle: Once the delay is canceled, select your wash cycle and press START/RESUME to begin the wash immediately. 3. Verify the Door's Full Closure and Latch Engagement For safety and proper operation, a dishwasher's wash cycle cannot begin unless the door is fully and securely closed, ensuring the internal latch mechanism is engaged. A slightly ajar door will prevent the control panel from initiating the cycle. Ensure Complete Closure: Apply firm, gentle pressure to the center of the door until you hear an audible click, confirming the latch has engaged. Inspect Internal Obstructions: A common, though often overlooked, obstruction is the lower dish rack. If the rack is installed backward or is not seated correctly on its tracks, it can protrude just enough to prevent the door from achieving a proper, full latch. Remove the lower rack, verify its correct orientation, and re-insert it fully before attempting to close the door again. 4. Execute a Control Panel Power Cycle Reset Just as a computer sometimes needs a restart to resolve temporary glitches or memory errors, the electronic control board of your dishwasher may benefit from a power cycle, or "hard reset." This action clears residual error codes or momentary electronic hang-ups that might be preventing startup. Disconnect Power for One Full Minute: The control panel must be completely disconnected from the power source for at least sixty seconds to ensure the internal capacitor and control memory are fully discharged. If Plugged In: Locate the outlet behind the dishwasher or under the sink and simply unplug the unit from the electrical receptacle for one minute. After the minute has passed, plug the unit back in. If Hard-Wired (Directly connected to the home wiring): Proceed to your home's main electrical service panel (breaker box). Locate the circuit breaker that supplies power specifically to the dishwasher. Turn the breaker to the OFF position for a full minute, and then return the breaker to the ON position. After performing the power cycle reset, allow a few moments for the control to reboot, then attempt to select your cycle and press START/RESUME once more. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall, I love this dishwasher. It is not very very quiet but… I don’t mind at all. The dishes are coming out sparkling clean and no water spots as in the past since we have very hard water here. I bought it above others bc it has heated dry and it’s needed here to avoid water spots.
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love it. So much quieter than my prior dishwasher. Plenty of space. The installer told me about cleaning the filter periodically. Still a bit confused about that.
