We're confident that the cover will protect the actual mattress from spills and/or stains, but it's firmness seems to take away from the feel of the mattress. For me it makes the bed firmer than not having the cover on, but the cover material could be softer.

While it is well made, it is very hot, we were using our old protector till the new one showed up and it is much cooler.
