The protector feels great. I don't notice it when using the mattress. It might be nice if it had a little more fluff to it (pillow-top type layer), but it definitely serves its purpose. I bought it along with my first Tuft and Needle mattress, so I can't really compare how it feels with vs. without the protector layer.

It seems not breathable, which makes sense since it is supposed to repel liquids, but I feel like I'm sleeping on a plastic sack. We just recently added some bed suspenders, which seems to help.

I don't really understand the function of this one. Our usual protectors are cotton on top and soft. This is plastic, so we use it under the other one. Too expensive for plastic, but maybe it has a different function I din't discover yet...
