I felt the mattress was too hard for me because I have fibromyalgia. I think it would be just right for other people.

The mattress still feels to hard for me after 2 weeks! :( The mattress topper that was sent to me was too soft and squishy. There has to be a happy medium somewhere...

I chose 8 simply because I do enjoy the comfort and rest that I get from a night's sleep on it with the 2"topper. That being said, when a topper is shipped with the bed, it should come with a non-slip pad to go in between the mattress and topper. It's a bit annoying to have to adjust and realign the topper on the mattress every morning.
