I purchased a Japanese style bed with the grass mats and a Japanese futon mattress. I love a firm mattress but the love setup was a little to firm for my shoulders since I am a side sleeper. So when I purchased the mattress topper my bed went from extra firm to firm and extremely comfortable. A Great buy so far.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Mattress Topper takes a while to air out. After a month or so the topper still has a slight chemical factory smell. Toppers just don't seem to work well with plush beds. They seem more designed for a firm bed. Little too much sinking in the lower back area and firmer in the neck area. Topper seems to run a little hot.

Very comfortable on a mattress with too much firmness. Added to a 13 in. mattress and I love the height and sinking-in feeling with the topper. Helped relieve pain in my shoulder related to fibro. Much better than regular heavy memory foam.

Bought a subpar foam mattress for our guest room, because I just didn't want the money on a Tuft and Needle. So, I HAD to buy the topper, since my guests were complaining about the lack of comfort and being overheated while sleeping on the cheaper mattress. In total, economicly it would have been better if I just bought a T&N full size mattress in the first place! Doh! I should have known better!!

I love my tuft and needle mattress, but as I get older my shoulders and hips hurt more. This topper has really helped me. When you get into bed you get that feeling of melting into it, but it is not to soft for support.
