Very impressed! I’ve been sleeping great it’s the right amount of softness which I was very worried about! I don’t like a firm firm mattress but I’m happy took a chance and purchased this one cause it’s pretty perfect.
Pretty good feel - not too soft, not too firm which is good since we're side/back sleepers. The mattress doesn't aid in very cool sleeping as advertised. And I hate that it's dark gray since we have white linen sheets and the dark color comes through the sheets. So we had to buy the mattress protector which is rough and noisy.
I never considered buying a mattress that I couldn't lie on before buying, but after reading the Consumer Reports issue on mattresses, I decided to give one a try. I was sleeping on a ComfortAire mattress, which I loved, but it was close to 15 years old and the mattress enclosure was collapsing on the sides and I just wasn't getting the proper comfort any longer. The Tuft & Needle Mint had great ratings for the price, as well as good reviews I found online, so I took the leap. Delivery and setup was easy as can be; and the mattress looks to be great quality. However, the first week I slept on it, I had a hard time sleeping. CS listed the firmness at 76, but this bed felt just hard to me. The Mint is supposedly softer than the original, so I can't even imagine how hard that one is. On the positive, I felt supported on all sides, and I wasn't feeling "creaky" when I got up in the morning, but I still don't know if I will keep it. Before my ComfortAire, I had a waveless water bed, which was hands-down, the most comfortable bed I've ever slept on, and I miss it dearly. I am still in the trial period, so I'll give it a bit more time, but I don't want to spend more money on a mattress pad for a bed that was supposed to be comfortable to begin with. I'm giving 3 stars for now. Perhaps if I get more used to the firmness, that will change.
We received our Tuft & Needle Mint mattress about 1 year ago. I was skeptical at first but wanted to give it a try. In the beginning it was hard to get used to, but I thought that it was because it was our first new mattress in about 15 years. There were a few months in the middle that we slept ok, but now we wake up every day with sore muscles and backs. I am also not able to sleep on my side at all, and I am side sleeper. I must lay flat on my back to get any amount of sleep. This review would not have happened if we hadn't recently stayed in another place, and we weren't sore when we awoke the next morning. I wanted to love this mattress so much, but my muscles and back hurt every morning combined with a lack of sleep.
