DO NOT BUY! Mouse is faulty-technical didn’t help!

The trackpad mouse STOPPED WORKING 2 weeks after receiving the computer! Unbelievable! Have spoken to technical support 4 times-and was eventually told “could not help me because I didn’t have premium warranty protection.” SUCH Bologna! I wanted to give Lenovo a chance after having many HP, Dell, Apple MacBook pros. Apparently should have stayed. Very disappointed. This is not a joke nor is it exaggerated.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Pleasantly surprised with quality at the price point. I've had a number of Thinkpads over the years and know how well they hold up. This is actually my first Thinkbook. I was a little hesitant to pull the trigger since I had never laid my hands on one. But I'm pretty happy with the purchase. The keyboard types well, screen is good quality, and it's plenty fast (starts up in seconds). I'm a career IT guy and web developer. I was looking for something moderately price to replace my expensive Dell XPS that went bad out of no where.

The keyboard layout is very condensed and has many superfluous buttons for Lenovo features that overtake the function of the F keys. It's really annoying when I have to hit the FN button to use the F keys. In fact, this slowed down my productivity so much that I was forced to get a wireless keyboard so that I could actually work. Also, the mouse box is so big that it also interferes when I'm trying to use the keyboard on the laptop. Other than, everything is fine, but just really annoying to have to now carry an extra keyboard.

Solid workstation for major number crunching.

This is used by our finance department and they are doing 10's of thousands of cell computations in excel and this makes it so much faster than all other workstations we have used. Solid build quality and decent battery life.
