Surface color/ markings fades easily

This is the update from my original review. From 2/17/2025. Original install.
The surface is falling apart. The painted DOT mesh is very heat sensitive. Hot pots when moved over the surface causes complete discoloration.

5 burner stovetop

What we expected including the light staying on

The unit is exactly what we thought. The color matches our countertops. Our last cooktop had the controls on the side which was easier to clean. The light to indicate heat for the middle burner stays on all the time - disappointing but it was in other reviews.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The hot surface indicator light (one for each cooking element) will glow when the glass surface is hot and will remain on until the surface has cooled to temperature that is safe to touch.
If the light never goes off, even after the unit cooktop has cooled down, we recommend resetting the unit by unplugging it for 5 minutes or switching off the circuit breaker. If the issue persists, please schedule a service appointment with a Bodewell technician by calling 833-426-3393 or schedule online at https://www.bodewell.com/schedule-repair-service

Choose Wisely

Cook top always looks greasy no matter how much I clean/wipe it. Burner sizes are disappointing, the two smaller ones on the left are too close together to even put my small omelet pans side by side (using larger burner to make pancakes at the same time). Thought I would like knobs in the center front, I don't, they take up too much space, I'm always reaching over them, they are in the way. It also seems the burners take longer to heat up than my previous unit. I loved my previous GE cooktop, I should have done more research before I bought this new unit, wish I could return it for something else. Make your selection wisely!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great features, hard to clean

Love how hot the burners get, don't like how hard it is to clean between the knobs and that you see every single finger print on the surface

Having 5 burners instead of 4! two of them large ones so i can have 2 large pans cooking at one time. One large burner is a fast boil- another plus. Lastly having a warmer burner
