Does not heat up as quickly as other brands. There is also a buzzing sound when turned on which is very annoying. Also hard to clean. Difficult to get rid of smudges.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Meh!!

ok, not spectacular. stated in sales pitch that you can adjust the temp by degrees or it will maintain a particular temperature setting. thats only if you buy the sensors that you stick in the pan $$$. or buy pans that have bluetooth sensors that connect to the cooktop even more $$$. stainless steel edge scratched immediately. replaced and older induction from GE with this one as th glass had been cracked.

Needs improvement

I have the php9036st model. The unit replaced a prior glass top ge unit with conventional electric burners. The unit does heat very fast and the burners are easy to select the desired setting. The controls are red when in use. The gray printing on the panel is too light and not easy to see. The tone generated by the timer is much too quiet. I contacted ge by phone and they didn't offer much help. Activating the options menu is not easy or straight forward. The bridge between the two smaller burners provides one single control but there is no heat between the two burners when the units are bridged. Several weaknesses in design. For the price this unit needs some improvements to be more user friendly. I chose it because it fit the cut out from the prior cooktop.
I would recommend this to a friend!

The new version has much improved controls over the older model. There is a much finer control over the heat level. Very efficient.

Of course any product can be improved but I am fairly happy with this cooktop. The app is stupid - no ability to remotely turn off the elements; this would be a very useful feature for people who sometimes leave the house and forgot to turned off the stove. For me, the ability to turn off the burners remotely is a huge safety benefit, but for whatever reason they have not enabled this function.

Natural gas fan sold on advantages of induction

The good: super fast response, great looks, very intuitive controls, plenty of usable space, doesn't heat the kitchen only heats the cookware.
The bad: only works with induction ready cookware, the stainless trim scratches pretty easily

No need for wifi smart bluetooth apliance

Easy to use .do wish it had the stainless steel wrapped on ALL 4 side. If it had that I'd say it would be a 5 star . We don't use the wifi , on a stove that's a little much .my opion ,there's no need for it ..
