Avoid it.

Discoloured from the bottom up, not on the surface. This was three months after installation. Warranty was refused saying I used the wrong cookware, which I think is just a standard answer for all complaints about induction. The never asked about my cookware, and my understanding is it won't turn on with the wrong cookware. I'm using cookware that I have used on a previous induction range I owned made by Jenair with no problems. It was black hopwever. They sent me a page from the manual about what kind of cookware to use. It explained nothing about how puting the wrong cookware on it will cause it to discolour.

We are more than happy to provide guidance with the cookware for induction cooktops. The best way to determine whether a pan will work is with a magnet. If the magnet sticks to the bottom, the cookware will work on an induction cooktop. However, painted or enamel bottom cookware is not recommended. If the enamel coating is on the bottom of the pan, it may fuse to the glass during cooking and lead to glass chipping or the discoloration of the cooktop.

I’ve had the cooktop for several weeks now. The surface is gorgeous, smooth, and a snap to clean. The controls are easy to use and provide precise temperature control. The heat is very quick so be prepared before you start cooking (assemble ingredients ahead!).

Clean Way to Cook

It is a nice and large stove where you can fit many pots and pans. However, the downfall is that you need pots and pans that are induction capable. Otherwise, it is a pain in the butt. I have only used gas stoves and so this is new but a much easier way to cook and clean.

Hi - Thank you for having purchased this gorgeous Café cooktop. The proper cookware to use on your induction cooktop should have a flat bottom and is magnetic. To test your existing cookware, check to see if a magnet will stick to the bottom of the pot or pan. If it does, it will work. This is my first time using an induction stove. I have only used gas stoves. The only pain in the butt is that you need to find induction working pots and pans, which I’m still looking for. And that’s why I haven’t tried all the features. It does seem to heat things up quickly and easy to clean up. And it also looks fancy. Practical wise, need to break in more.

Hi - Thank you for having purchased this stunning Café cooktop. The proper cookware to use on your induction cooktop should have a flat bottom and be made of a magnetic material. To test your cookware, see if a magnet will stick to the bottom of the pot or pan. If it will, it is compatible. I haven’t been able to use it on a Constancy
It has been repaired by a GE repair man. Still didn’t work well.
This appliance was just put in but not connected due to the wiring. I like it when I can get a burner to stay on.

We are sorry to hear you've had these issues with your new cooktop. It is our hope the unit has been installed for you now and the issues you've had have been corrected. Please know that it is essential to have the proper cookware for use with an Induction cooking appliance. In order to create the magnetic field and heat the cookware, the bottom of the cookware must have some iron content. This is why it is so important to have the proper cookware. The best way to determine whether a pan will work is with a magnet. If the magnet sticks to the bottom, the cookware will work on an Induction Cooktop. Garbage. Elements stopped working after one week.

Absolutely trash. Owned the slide in range for a year and used a new purchased stainless steel set with it. Absolutely no issues. Moved and purchased the cooktop for our new home. Worked fine for 1 week, then one morning it just decided it would not longer recognize when a pan was on the element and it stopped heating.
Called support, no way to reset it no troubleshooting immediately had to schedule service. Currently sitting on hold waiting.
