Backing flaking off

Got this for my 36' to cover it 2 years later or really 2 summers the coating on the
underside is flaking off . This allows rain on the griddle that drains in the cup and grease and oil spill onto patio. Nice mess and on a colored patio basically stained it forever. I have a six year old polyester only weber grill cover next to it dry all the time.

My last cover lasted from 2020 to now, but since I have to leave my griddle outside all year, I depend on these covers to protect it. The covers do the job, it's just the nature of the beast to have to replace the covers every few years when you have to keep them outside all year.
