Finicky and then failed

This lock seems great in theory but we’ve never been able to get it to work consistently, especially with kids fingerprints. Now, after 2 years, the lock it just completely dead. After reading other reviews I’m not hopefully anything will be covered by any warranty.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
