Bright, clear notes have made my coffee POP! After a brief break in period, my brews with the brew burrs have been a sensory experience. Flavor bombs out of each coffee that I have brewed with this grinder. I am very pleased.
This machine showed me just how much I'd taken grinding for granted. The consistency and accuracy has opened up so much in taste, potential brew methods, and even the coffee I choose. A big bonus is that I don't get the static mess I endured with Gen 1. The larger hopper is welcomed and the design remains on point. I'm happily entrenched in the Fellow coffee ecosystem.
The Gen 2 version of the Ode grinder is an excellent grinder with only a couple of nits to detract from "perfect." Its compact size, build quality, user interface, ease of cleaning, and grind quality are all topnotch. I also really appreciate its auto-off feature when finished grinding. If I were to deduct any points it would be for the catch cup. The cup is metal, which is nice, but there are two "fins" inside that are supposed to help with dispensing the grinds, but tend to catch grounds behind them and make washing and drying the cup less than straightforward. As mentioned, everything about this grinder's build quality is excellent, except for the catch cup's lid. Its made of plastic and fits very loosely on the cup. The lid simply does not give the same feeling of precision and quality as the rest of the grinder. Other than that lid, the only thing I wish this grinder had was some sort of cord storage. Overall though, the best grinder I've found for non-expresso coffee.
