Only As good as it's weakest link, the hinges!!

The cooler is excellent in so many ways but is as weak as it's weakest link, the hinges.
Expecting a heavy duty cooler lid to stay attached with sheet metal screws into thin plastic is a poor engineering choice. My cooler lid was caught by a gust of wind and popped 3of4 screws attaching the lid to the hinges. Igloo needs to offer a retrofit hinge or lid to remedy this. For a next-level price point cooler this is unacceptable quality.

I totalled my truck yesterday. But everyone is okay, including both dogs this cooler, which was thrown from the bed and rolled down an embankment. The firefighters hauled it back up the hill and it was totally fine, with everything still safe inside. When I chose a cooler I did not foresee this happening but I'm impressed that this thing is so well made. It might seem weird to leave a review like this after such a traumatic event, but I run a business myself - good quality is hard to achieve and I like to share positive feedback where it's so well deserved.

Just received my BMX-52 Cooler 4 days ago and I have not used it yet but I am very impressed with the look and quality of the cooler. Handles are very comfortable. I'm sure I will be very happy with it since all of my previous coolers were very cheaply made coolers. This BMX-52 is definitely not in that category.
