This is my first thor product. Installation was fairly simple and everything works as it should. It heats up way faster than my old electric cooktop with elements. I like the induction option because I have young kids and if they play with the buttons these won't heat up unless proper cookware is on them.

Recently installed this 30 inch induction cooktop. Although there is a learning curve to induction cooking, I would suggest it is not steep and the benefits far outweigh learning a new system. I very much appreciate the layout and the beauty of its design. Also, if you have never cooked on induction heating, boiling, etc., is very fast.

I installed ours about a week ago. Aside from having to run a new 30 Amp 220volt circuit, the installation went easily. Instructions were somewhat confusing (clearly translated from another language), but it went in without much fuss. I’m still not clear what “ensure adequate ventilation” means, as the specs didn’t say. But since there is very little heat transferred downwards, I’m not concerned. Now that we are using it, I am amazed at how fast in heats up and cools down. The controls are easy to understand (although not sure why there is a “boost” setting, when the number 9 setting is plenty hot). The only disappointing detail is that the actual cooking diameter of each zone is much smaller (20%?) than the circle describing it. We have to put a pot or pan on a much larger circled zone or else only the middle of the pan gets hot. I presume we’ll get more used to these limitations soon. Otherwise, this seems to be a really good product at an affordable price. It certainly looks cool! PS: Make absolutely sure what size hole you have in your countertop before ordering.

I've had my 30" induction cooktop for about a month and I LOVE it. This cooktop replaced a 35 year old Kenmore coil cooktop. There is a bit of a learning curve to know what setting I need for boil or sauté or simmer. The manual does have a chart to help figure that out. The simmer function is a little different than I expected--it is not exactly a consistent simmer. It cycles, so what's in the pot will sometimes bubble a little more, and then a little less. That just took some getting used to and the end result is great. The Boost feature works perfectly as does the Keep Warm feature. Large pot of water boils in about 5 minutes. I also noticed that my non-stick skillet works perfectly with this cooktop. On my old coil top I had sticking and hots spots when using these same pans. Now they are such a pleasure to use and I'm getting the best fried or scrambled eggs with NO sticking. There is a faint fan sound when the cooktop is in use but it's hardly noticeable and doesn't bother me at all. Before we installed it I was concerned about the sizes of my pans matching the burners, but that is not an issue with this cooktop. Your pots and pans do not have to be the exact same size as the burners. I did end up needing some new pots but that's ok because mine were around 20 years old already. My LeCrueset works beautifully, as do my stainless All Clad pots. The cooktop is gorgeous and I've not had trouble so far keeping it clean. I am careful and wipe up any spills as soon as I can. After cooking I wipe the top down while it's still a little warm. So far it looks shiny and clean. We installed this ourselves, including having to cut away 1/2' of granite countertop since the old cut out was just too small. My husband was a champ! Once we had the cut out adjusted the rest of the installation was a snap. This cooktop is a great value. I found it at an incredible sale price at Best Buy and because the price was so good I also bought an extended warranty just in case. So far, I really love this thing! Can't think of anything about it that I do not like.
