Awesome Coffee Maker

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The OXO 9-Cup Coffee Maker is a great product. This coffee maker makes a full 9 cup pot of coffee in 8 minutes so if your always busy and on the go this would be a great coffee maker to have. We love the Double-wall stainless steel thermal carafe the carafe keep the coffee hot for hours. We tested how long the water would stay hot and it made it 24 hours before starting to cool off. We use our Coffee maker everyday and love it. This is gonna be my go to coffee maker from now on we even bought one for my mother for Christmas.

Makes great coffee but has some issues..

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was super excited to try this coffee maker, but was soon disappointed. Right off the bat, two items were missing from the box. One was the coffee scoop and the second item was the removable silicone internal mixing tube.
I went ahead and used the maker while the items were being shipped to me and was pleased with the flavor and temperature of the coffee but did find the Dial/OXO button confusing. Once I mastered the dial, I then had to instruct all the other coffee drinkers of the family how to use it and we still have to keep the instructions close just in case.
One of the bigger complaints I have with the maker is the way the brew basket drips hot coffee no matter how long you wait to remove the carafe after the coffee has brewed. This creates a huge mess all over the wall and counter since the coffee splashed off the base of the coffee maker.
I am not sure I am 100% sold on this coffee maker. It doesn’t seem to have some the other features other comparable makers have. I would love to be able to fill the water reservoir and only brew half the pot.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great pour-over flavor without the math & measure!

The Barista Brain’s high-tech microprocessor heats the water to the perfect temperature during each step of the brewing process; a short bloom which is important for flavor, followed by precise water application over all the grounds from the Rainmaker showerhead. These thoughtful and smart features make this the best cup of coffee you can get at home, much like a coffee house or pour-over, with the ease of a standard drip pot.
If you’re like me, you like a cup of hot coffee in the morning, and you’re willing to sacrifice the unsurpassed control and flavor of time-consuming pour-over for a drip machine that wakes you up with an effortless cup of Joe. You no longer have to compromise between pour-over and ready-made morning coffee (who can do all that math and counting before coffee anyhow?) because Barista Brain has a 24 hour timer and does the math for you. You can have pour-over quality at the touch of a button at 2 a.m. if that’s what time you’re waking up and if so, I’m sorry.
This coffee pot replaced my higher-end drip model which had multiple coffee preference settings, and I don’t miss it. I have incredibly short cabinets above my kitchen counter, even the stubbiest blender can’t fit under them. The Barista Brain measures 14 and ¼ inches tall, and didn’t fit where my other coffee pot went, so this is something to consider if you’re afflicted with short cabinet space like me. The coffee is delicious enough that the minor adjustments I made to accommodate the Barista Brain are totally worth the effort. Not only that, as with all OXO products, the attention to detail in design makes it a beautiful display piece in its own right. I don’t think there’s a prettier coffee maker on the market!
While aesthetics are all well and good, a good coffee maker must be easy to use, and make great coffee. The Barista Brain checks both of these boxes off, making it my favorite coffee maker I’ve ever owned. I hold a special place in my heart for any machine that I can operate right out of the box, intuitively, without reading instructions. I challenged myself with this, and unboxed the Barista Brain, cleaned it and set to work. After cleaning, I installed the silicone internal mixing tube, which I really appreciate because it eliminates the coffee sludge that happens at the bottom of pots sometimes. I ran some water through the machine to clean it and we were ready to go.
There is a single button surrounded by a circular illuminated dial to operate the machine. After filling the brew basket with the included filter (OXO kindly includes a small package of 10) and scoop for ground coffee, I twisted the dial and selected between only two options: 2-4 cups or 5-9. The exact number of cups depends on how much water you put in the pre-marked reservoir. I pressed the dial and the screen showed some droplets which indicates the coffee is brewing! This is the quietest machine I’ve ever known. You don’t hear really anything other than a few glugs of water now and then. The coffee is dripped into a double-wall carafe so it stays hot and doesn’t burn like hot plates do. I still didn’t need to consult the manual, but I looked through it as I waited for my brew. I learned how to set the clock and the 24 hour timer, which is just as simple as operating the machine was.
Finally, my coffee is done! I took it black for the first taste, even though I usually have cream and flavored syrup. WOW! The coffee is the best I’ve ever had. I get good quality beans and use a burr grinder, but I don’t have a scale yet (I have my eye on the OXO burr grinder with integrated scale!) and this coffee is as good as it gets. It’s strong and flavorful but not at all bitter. Not burned tasting, just really, really good. I’ve been using Barista Brain every morning for about two weeks and I’m just in love. I even had to use a regular coffee maker one day while traveling... ugh. The coffee just wasn’t the same. I’m officially a coffee snob now.
This machine is great, like all OXO products, and I just can’t say enough good things about it. It’s beautiful, it’s smart, it does the job well and it makes my life better. My only wish is that it were a tiny bit shorter, but I won’t knock down for that because it’s my house’s flaw not the coffee maker’s. The other wish is that there was a drip stop mechanism so that when the carafe is removed, coffee residue doesn’t continue to drip. I don’t think most coffee makers have this, just my last one. So again, I wouldn’t detract from the five star rating for that. Another thing I saw in reading reviews was that people didn't like the condensation on the water chamber. All you need to do is leave the lid open and it will dry clear. Condensation happens on every coffee pot chamber but most of them are opaque.
The Barista Brain is the perfect coffee pot for anyone who loves quality, delicious coffee, beautiful machinery that utilizes smart design, and might be too busy for the hassle of pour- over. Honestly, the Barista Brain makes pour-over unnecessary as anything more than a ceremony. Get this coffee maker!

Wonderful Coffee Maker

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Recently, because I had several family members staying at my home, I switched over from my usual single cup coffee machine to the OXO Brew 9-cup Coffee Maker. I wish I had done this sooner! The OXO Coffee Maker was a delight to use and most importantly the coffee was piping hot and delicious! The stainless steel carafe kept the coffee nice and hot through the entire meal and into lunch. Please note that before I made the coffee I purposely heated the double-wall thermal carafe with very hot water for a few minutes, then I poured it out, turned the machine on and brewed several cups of great coffee! You don’t have to do this extra step but I think it really keeps the coffee hotter longer. It’s very easy and straight forward to use. Love the single button dial to switch between 2-4 and 5-9 cups. I did not give this a 5 star rating only because the power cord is very short and the coffee maker is taller than some others. This height becomes an issue because when it's not in use and placed under my kitchen cabinets, the black lids are very close to my under cabinet lights and I cannot open either lid unless I place the coffee maker closer to the edge of my counter. Small inconvenience for a really nice coffee maker!

So easy to use!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The OXO 9-cup Coffee Maker is incredible! My favorite feature of this product is the option to make two or nine cups! I have family that visits a lot so it is the perfect coffee maker to use for either just my husband or my entire family. No more wasting money on coffee pods as I can just use regular coffee grounds. The carafe keeps the coffee a perfect temperature for an extended period of time and only takes a couple minutes to brew. Highly recommend. Definitely worth the investment.

Sleek Design

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have now been using this coffee maker for A few days with no issues, and I'm still happy with the performance. Coffee is hot and tasty every time. It fits under my cabinets, but not while the top is open. All in all, a solid product that brews a good cup of coffee. It won't change your personal relationship with the beverage, but you'll almost certainly be glad you got one.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Oxo 9-cup coffee maker is taller than the pictures will have you believe. However it has a small foot print when it comes to counter space.
There is single small dial on the front which can be used to control all the required setting. The LED display is large and clear.
It is very simple to use and makes really nice coffee quickly.
The carafe is insulated and is very well made stainless steel. The glass water container gives the coffee maker a sophisticated look.
This good looking coffee maker does what its supposed to do , just better.
