The blender is not really a variable speed blender - only one speed so not sure why it is called that? There is no way to change the speed. Otherwise it works well and no other problems.

Yay but battery is weak

We've owned this for a few months now. We love our stick blenders and have used a professional one til the motor died.
The lightweight and ergonomics is the best part about this blender.
The battery life is awful. We can get through 10-15 minutes of use (making a batch of mayo) til the battery dies. Once it's dead, you have to take off the blender portion to recharge, which means you can't charge during use.
To recharge, the "quick charge" gives you about 2 minutes of use. After an hour or so, we're back at full charge.
Hope they improve this in the future or move the charging port to allow use while charging.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My husband gifted me this wonderful KitchenAid cordless hand blender and in our limited space kitchen that only has one handy bench top powerpoint this wonderful addition to our life has firmly endeared itself to us! Not being tethered makes for a whole new world! I love it and then to add to it's appeal there's the whisk, chopper attachment and storage jar! The battery life is exceptional and the pan guard is a pot saver just brilliant !

We choose the classic KitchenAid red and totally love the look of it. Functionality is amazing! Since it is cordless it is so practical and efficient - you can literally be whisking to make whipped cream using the whisk attachment in your living room and not be tied down to the kitchen bench!
We love the chopper attachment too! We blitz up our chilli hollandaise sauce in minutes as the hand blender is powerful! Once it is on full charge you have plenty of time create something delicious with freedom as to where you want to be cooking. Absolutely love our new cordless KitchenAid hand blender

Whip, blast, chop, smoothie - this stick bender ups the ante and allows you out of the kitchen to do it all. Charge holds for weeks, which is immense when you work full time and are not highly organised. Thank you for a very useful item team kitchenaid.

Did I mention it's cordless?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this to replace another brand that had died and I am impressed. First, it's cordless, that in itself is a huge plus. The attachments are all you need in an immersion/stick blender and it comes in my fave colour - red!! The unit's battery has not let me down even when I catered a large family event and it is quick to recharge. And did I mention it's cordless. Highly recommend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought 2 months ago at Christmas and have used it many times since. The motor is strong and purees food to a very smooth consistency. Makes a beautiful Chantilly cream with the whisk attachment. Haven't needed to recharge yet, so battery is long lasting. Loyal to KitchenAid brand, this cordless hand blender is on point for KitchenAid with its classic beauty, while going modern with its matte black finish. Love KitchenAid products, and have all KitchenAid appliances in my home.

New isn’t always better

Bought to replace our Kitchenaid hand blender that died after 5 years. Disappointed it doesn’t come with the same attachments or case, it’s less for more $$. Less attachments, less control, less storage. You can’t leave it out, it charges where you would naturally stand it. It’s just not as neat as the old one in it’s case. You feel like you didn’t get the same value and just paid extra for charging. A stand would go a long way, but variable speed control would go further. Time spent trying to get the grip right was frustrating to say the least, from the older models clear speed control to this where my grip controls how it works and I honestly can’t tell the difference from full force to light hand. I don’t see the point, it’s all or nothing. Personally, I feel I wasted my money and I’m now doubting the brand.
