Great replacement for Joby gorillapod

I carried a larger tripod to hikes with me for a long while but recently I picked up trail running and found carrying the other tripod bulky, especially if running with just a vest. I bought the mobile tripod as a replacement. I didn’t purchase the accompanying case bc I already have a Moment case on my phone. It’s true that the MagSafe by itself isn’t very strong, especially compared to the Moment MagSafe tripod mount that it replaced, but I haven’t had any major issues with keeping the phone on the mobile tripod. You just have to fiddle with the tripod more to find the sweet spot where the phone stays on. It does make your phone a bit more bulky (I have an iPhone 14 Pro Max), but I still prefer carrying the mobile tripod over any other tripod I have. In the three weeks I’ve had it, I’ve used it as much as I’ve used the Joby Gorillapod two months before, partly because I can carry it discreetly everywhere. If you don’t use it for photos, you can use it to prop up your phone to watch video too. I also find myself using it as a fidget toy. Will I stop using the Joby tripod? No. I might still use it for hikes or trail runs where I’m carrying a bigger pack, but for now the Peak design tripod is my go to choice for when I’m going outside, or just anywhere really. I love it!

love this fkn stand !!! I have the everyday case and its perfect a pairing! I use it al the time!
FYI - its best for phone cases that DO NOT have any bumps around the edge of the back of phone! (mainly if you want to use stand with the phone horizontal, it will work just fine vertically)

The Phone Stand Hunt is Over!

My hunt for THE phone stand is finally over. This is hands down the best system — I’m never looking elsewhere again. My favorite feature is the key that tightens the ball head to extend its longevity. Every time I show it to family and friends, their jaws drop — and I love being Peak Design’s unofficial, no-commission salesperson.

Best phone stand ever

I've had this one for years, and it is still like new. Well made, versatile. I use it in my home office and when I travel and it's probably my favorite phone accessory, ever.

I bought this a few weeks ago and have been amazed by how convenient it is to take everywhere and how useful it is to record content easily, watch a movie, video call someone. I have used it so much more than I thought I would. It is easily adjustable with the tool that comes with it and hides in one of the legs. The only reason that I didn't give it 5 stars is that the ballhead becomes too loose sometimes and needs frequent tightening, and because I feel the magnet attachment could be stronger. I had it on in the car and after getting in a pothole, the phone detached from the mobile tripod.

Solid little tripod!

I've purchased so many phone clips & mounts, but most are either not well made or they are too big a cumbersome that I never take them anywhere. This little tripod is impressive. The MagSafe mount is firm on the Peak Design Case and the quality construction is worth the price. The Carryology print design is worth the extra ten bucks just to be cool. I will definitely be taking this with me and using it. One thing to note is that it is solid and therefore add some weight to your phone. The good thing is that it clings to the MagSafe wallet and the pair fits nicely in my front pocket while not on my phone.

How did I live without it!

This tripod has made having a phone conversation fun again. Prop up your phone and see the screen. An added plus while charging too. The cable extends freely and isn't cramped or bent.
