The missing link

I thought this thing would be a novelty - I was wrong. It’s vital. Initially I bought it for group selfies on the trails, and I thought it would live in my backpack. Instead, it’s lived on my phone 24/7. Being able to plop you phone down at a comfortable viewing angle in ANY situation is one of those things that sounds unnecessary but has fundamentally changes the way I interact with my phone. FaceTime calls are especially improved. No more propping the phone up and trying to stay in frame. This thing can adjust to any angle, and the brilliantly included hex tool lets me keep the legs tight. I just can’t say enough good things about it. It’s the missing thing that actually made interacting with my phone pleasant.

Excellent design

One of the reasons why I backed the Mobile project. The design is super clever and it just works. Slight issue is that when trying to use the rear camera, it's hard to tilt up (screen facing down) when using a larger phone as the phone itself would hit the tripod legs.

Nice and slim, although not quite large enough

Its very well designed and a slim package for the back of the phone. And it works well if the phone is in landscape mode, although in portrait, on the Pixel 6 pro case, its not quite long enough and isn't very useful. But for portrait mode, it works well!

Definitely room for improvement

Bought months ago and barely used, one of the legs became loose. Seems like kind of an oversight to not make the leg bolts the same size as the ball head bolt. Also had to tighten the leg to the point where it’s not as easily unfolded otherwise it becomes loose again. Expected more from peak design since they’re not cheap..

Amazing build quality

Purchased this as part of a Kickstarter event. The build quality is absolutely amazing -- the magnetic attachment is strong and the tripod legs are solid, yet have capable rubber tips to avoid slippage. One of the best accessories I've purchased in my 14+ years of owning iPhones.

And keeps it clean too; nice side effects, but nonetheless remarkable. This tripod renders your phone a much more congenial device. No more holding, you can see what’s happening, be it mail, messages,…. With just a glimpse, rather than having to pick up the divice. Reading articles, browsing, all is more pleasant with the screen at a steady angle and off the tabletop. Photos or anything that requires the phone to be steady and effortlessly positioned is now a breeze. No more propping the phone against various surfaces at odd angles. Easy set up, unfolding, attaching detaching, storing. Good design and great value. Where’s the iPad version?

Amazing tripod... if you have a smaller device

I bought the tripod predominantly for timelapses and for my home office setup. My girlfriend has an iPhone 14 Pro and it is perfect for that device, however, I own an iPhone 15 Pro Max and it is not as sturdy when configured in portrait mode. Due to the weight of the device, sometimes tripod trips over especially when you're trying to point your camera toward the sky even in landscape mode. I like this product but would love to see an updated version for bigger devices.

How many times have you had to balance your phone on a random rock to take a photo? Problem solved.
I’m one of those people who often skips bringing a big, heavy tripod because it’s just too much hassle. That’s why this is the perfect solution for me: a mini tripod that’s smaller than a wallet and fits right in your pocket.
The idea is simply genius. It has small legs that fold out so you can use your phone as a tripod in both vertical and horizontal orientations—and you can set it up in literally 2 seconds.
The quality is everything you’d expect from Peak Design: metal construction, impeccable attention to detail, and everything fits together perfectly.
So, stop relying on that random rock you found on the trail and use a proper tripod. Nature will thank you (and so will the quality of your photos).
