Easy to use with app

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This smart bulb is easy to use with the app that is downloaded (cync). I installed it at my front door- so when I am coming home in the evening, I can turn it on before I get home. I can also turn the light off from bed once I am inside. It has voice control which is also nice.
It is a LED bulb which is a plus because it uses less electricity. One star off only because the lumens are not interchangeable.

Great idea but

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So these bulbs work off of WiFi & an app. I thought they would be a very handy thing to have. Sometimes we go out & forget to leave a light in for the dogs. I can be anywhere & turn the lights on. Cool, right? So we put them in the lamps in the living room. My kids were home and couldn’t turn the lights on because they don’t have the app & they no longer work with the switch. So everyone has to have the app for these to work. I ended up taking them out because that just didn’t work for us. I will probably put one back in in the winter when it gets dark early but not being able to turn them on traditionally is a pain.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our house is far from being a "smart home." As it definitely makes things alot more simpler, I tend to keep things the way they've always been. So when TryIt Sampling sent me Cync's Direct Connect Smart Bulbs in exchange for my honest thoughts, I figured this would be the perfect way to get my toes wet! Lol. I must admit I was a little intimidated when it came to the set up process, but Cync provided a "set-up" guide that gave 3 different ways to get started. The first way was to do the setup process using the Cync app. The 2nd way was using Amazon Frustration Free setup, and the 3rd way was by using the Google Home app. I first attempted using my Google Home app but had trouble syncing the bulbs to my phone via Bluetooth. After a couple failed attempts I decided to download the Cync app and then follow their prompts. At first I wasn't successful but I think it had to do with the massive thunderstorms happening. After the storms passed I tried the process all over again and was successful, but for only 1 of my 2 bulbs! Ughhh! After another try I finally got both bulbs connected. Having the ability to control my light via voice command or through the app is nice, especially if we come home and the house is dark, I can turn the light on before we even get inside, but the hassle I had to complete the setup process was frustrating. I love that the bulbs are just as powerful as any regular light bulb, I love that they can be used via Alexa or Hey Google, I love that I can use a dimmer on lights that I couldn't dim before. I think that having 1 or 2 smart capabilities just doesn't seem worth it, but if your home is completely "smart" then yes, it's definitely a plus!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just put this in our lamp and it’s brighter then I thought it would be. Which is great it also works well with the lamp which I was hesitant about at first. It connected very easy to my Alexa which made it more convenient.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] i’m probably the worst millennial when it comes to technology. so when i heard smart lightbulb i was confused at first.
these bulbs are so user friendly and easy to connect, and they actually stay connected.
no losing connection randomly and tripping in the dark hall way or staircase
the soft white is perfect for living rooms or bedrooms.
i love the fact i don’t need to get out of bed to shut the lights off anymore
beware this is a lazy girls best friend.
