The Nanit is a fantastic baby monitor. After reading reviews/blogs/videos on baby monitors I am so glad we got this one. It hooks up to WiFi, and I have not had any troubles with connection. The resolution is great, and night vision mode is clear. It is so nice to have the baby monitor screen superimposed on your phone. You can have it in a small thumbnail too so you can text, email, etc. As a first time parent, I did end up giving the breathing band a try. I really like it. It’s peace of mind once baby goes into their crib, and out of your room. Even though the Nanit is on the pricer side, I would say this is worth it. You won’t be disappointed!

Bad hardware, trying to push software subscription

I've had it for 3 years now, and I really regret my decision to buy Nanit. It still works, but since day one, the camera modules barely stayed on the base module, meaning I would never hang that thing over my baby. I had to use another pedestal to have it outside the crib. When I bought there were features that later required subscription to use. The image quality is subpar for the price, and they force you to update the firmware after a few tries, which is super annoying because every time it restarts it clicks the IR filter in place making a loud noise that can wake up your baby.
All in all, feels like a company who bough cheap hardware, and tried to slap software subscription model. That's does not reflect quality and good user experience.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
