Been using several Winix 5500-2 units for years
one of which finally said it's had enough and startted
loudly whining (motor gave out) after years of running 24/7.

The 9800 model is a huge upgrade, very powerful. I bought three and will buy two
more in a few months when I get these three paid off.

We are three months in. When we clean the filters there is a very noticeable amount of accumulated dust etc.

Good Air Purifier

I have owned my 9800 air cleaner for about a year now. It works well for my apartment but I have one complaint as well do for all the air cleaners I have owned. Filter life span is rarely a year. At 6 months I have recorded 45% or lower. But that's the price to have a good air purifier. I have never had any issues with the 9800.

We have two of these and find that that the air quality sensor is quite different between the two. They are quiet and non-intrusive on living spaces. They do NOT recover well from a router reboot. I have to re-register them each time I reboot the router

Burned some roasted sweet potatoes and opening the doors didn't get it rid of the odor. I cranked this purifier up to high for about 30 min, and it was gone. It does a great job, shuts off when the room is dark, and comes back on quietly when the light in the room increases (or is it detecting motion?). It's my third unit and by far the best, but all of them work very well.
I would recommend this to a friend!
