Ken Dia De Muertos Doll Review 2022

As Collectors of Barbie and Ken dolls we love the Ken dolls most. Not as many are made as Barbie herself. In this review we are going to talk about the Ken Dia De Muertos Doll from 2022. This is the 2nd Dia De Muertos Ken doll. (First Ken Dia De Muertos was made 2021. We own and love him too. )
Let’s talk about the box first! The box is Fabulous, Nice heavy cardboard with a neat embossed artwork of ken Dia De Muertos. The box itself is just so cool, it’s nice to have such a Cool box for dolls retailing at $80 and up. As Collectors we love a nice box for the higher end dolls. The back of the box tells the story of the Ken Dia De Muertos doll 2022. Last year’s Ken 2021 was just as cool. The sides of the box show lots of detail as well. This box is a keeper even though we took the doll out.
Let’s talk about Ken himself now! This doll is just as nice as last year’s doll. I love all the details they add to these collectors dolls. We will start with the top of the doll and work our way down.
The Hat is very cool with a plastic hat with banding around the rim of the hat top and underside. Plus a neat plastic band with a skeleton head in center and lots of detail around the band. I love that it’s plastic rather than just a fabric ribbon band. It just has lots of detail. See all our photos for this review.
Now the removable vest is very neat with embroidered detail on left and right shoulders. I love that the designer added the gold buttons on the one side of the vest. The Bolo tie is very nice addition to the outfit. I also love the nice heavier fabrics used for the clothes. Just like the clothes from the 60’s and some of the higher end dolls.
The shirt itself is very nice with embroider details in neck area as well, which match the details of the vest embroidery very nicely. Love that the designer added the same gold button on the ends of the blue dress shirt along with the black cuff to match the other black details of the outfit.
The pants are very nice and I love the detailed stripe down the sides which kind of look like edges of the top and underside of the hat. The pho front pockets are a nice detail. Plus the added belt loops at the back of the pants. The belt really looks great with the Skull head buckle. Love the details the plastic gives us rather than just a regular buckle. The belt as has lots of detail all the way around it.
The boots are pretty cool as well with loads of detail plus I love how they snap together which make them seamless. Love that they look just like a boot but close so nicely. I really that they were molded on his feet at first until I pulled the pants up and saw the tabs on both side at the top of the boot.
Now the Ken doll himself is very nice. Love the facial sculpt and the detailed Face paint of the doll. I have loved all of the designs painted on the Dia De Muertos dolls. We brushed his hair with an old toothbrush to take away the stiff ness. The hair style itself is very nice and looks so much better brushed out. I know it’s hard to do hair styles for boy dolls but this looks great. I really like some of the hair styles they have been doing on the boy dolls lately. The body looks like the basic line of boy dolls. I wish they would have used an articulated body more to get better poses for such a neat collectable doll.
My review of this doll is that we really love the 2022 Dia De Muertos Ken doll and every detail the designer added to him. A very nice doll and I highly recommend you get him before he is SOLD OUT! I hope they continue make these dolls for this cultural Holiday. I do hope they make the dolls more articulated in the near future. Keep up the great work Mattel. I will always be a loyal customer and will continue to buy your products. Great work, keep the Di De Muertos dolls coming!

All the accessories that came with Ken make it easy to transform another Ken with the outfit with exception of the make up face. My kid likes to dress up the other dolls with tge outfit.

Dia De Muertos Barbie Ken Doll

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the first time I purchased a Dia De Muertos Barbie Signature Doll and I came away totally impressed. From the detailed packaging design inside and out, kudos to the design team. As an adult toy collector, I was glad it came with its own stand and pedestal as I like to have my action figures displayed instead of being played with. I placed this on my display bookcase and it looks perfect. I enjoyed how intricate the details are on Ken's face as well as his outfit. Again, I cant say how much I enjoyed the whole unboxing experience. The whole theme was well executed throughout.

I love every bit of it from the box to the doll itself. This doll makes me proud to be hispanic. I love every bit of it and cannot wait to add the barbie to my collection. I am very impressed.
