Wasn't sure at first tbh but now I absolutely love it

Pros: I sleep great, back pain is more manageable than it's ever been. Non-existent 95% of the time. The mattress is comfortable, and sleeps surprisingly cool. I get hot in my sleep, and I don't have any temperature issues with this mattress, even with another person in bed. Motion doesn't transfer very far at all so I don't disturb the person sleeping next to me.
Cons: It's stupid heavy. The pressure curve of this mattress is very strange at first, it takes some getting used to. But once you do you're in for a good night's sleep.
I have a REALLY messed up back. Broke my spine in 12 places, broke my neck, tailbone, sacrum, hip, pelvis, and I have severe spinal stenosis. I've had over 30 fractures in my life. Sleep is a gift I don't often get to enjoy.
That being said, this mattress is extremely heavy. Think of a heavy mattress... and now imagine one that you would deem extra ridiculously heavy. This mattress is 3-5x that. I know a few people by now who own T&N mattresses, and the general consensus seems to be that no matter what you do, you are going to put this mattress on the bed upside down. As was the case with mine. This became problematic quickly, however, as the bag my mattress was vacuum sealed in had a puncture in it. So as soon as I got the mattress out of the box, it started hissing to life. Upside down, against the clock. However, I sleep more through the night than I though I ever would. I used to sleep maybe 40% of the night through? Now it's about 95% And the mattress doesn't transfer motion... like at all. You can set a full can of soda on your partners side, and sit down on your side. The can won't tip over. I used to keep my girlfriend up all night changing sides and tossing and turning. She sleeps through the night now even when I have a really bad back flare up. Even when I have a really bad back flare up, in bed is the only time I feel actually comfortable.
The first month or so, I was extremely comfortable but didn't sleep so well. I can't tell you how comfortable this mattress is. A friend of mine owns the 2nd softest Purple they offer (I think it was the .3?) and when he sat on this, he got mad. It's more comfortable. He bought one of these 4 months later. Once you get used to this mattress it's absolutely heavenly.
The youtube reviews I saw of this mattress made it look extremely squishy. It certainly doesn't feel that way. One of the concerns both my girlfriend and I had were that it looked too squishy for certain night time activities. Quite the opposite. It's fantastic in every way. It is soft for sure, but this mattress has absolutely no business being as supportive as it is.
The mattress is pricy, but Tuft and Needle has some fantastic sales. Wait until they have a sale and get the Hybrid. You'll thank yourself later. Never be afraid to spend money on 3 things: A car, shoes, and a mattress. If you're not in one, you're in another. You owe it to yourself to be comfortable and buy the best mattress you can afford.
This is the best money I've ever spent.

If you’re a hot sleeper this bed will sink you right in and the top material isn’t the most breathable.

Great clean and supportive mattress for tall/heavy combination sleepers.

I love this mattress. I love that it came sealed and in a box. I know I got a new and clean mattress. I got the hybrid mattress because my husband and I are both combination sleepers (back and side). Since having the mattress for almost a month we don't wake up with shoulder or lower back pain any longer. We use to have more of a soft foam mattress. This one supports my lower back so it doesn't sit drooped all night. The edge support is great. It feels as wide as it is. I am 5'8"/260 and it seems like it will last a long time. Husband is 6'3"/250 and we don't feel the bed more or shake when one of us shifts in the night.

Feels strange compared to the original T&N
on July 20, 2021

I am coming from a 5 year old original T&N mattress, from before they even announced the Mint. We bought the T&N topper for it because my wife wanted it to be softer, like the Mint. After this long, I was really just tired of the topper moving around so much, our old bed flattening a bit (I'm 6' 1" 290lb and a strict side sleeper) and our broken frame, so I decided to get a new frame and upgrade to the T&N Hybrid California King.
I've only had it for a few nights, but I have noticed a few things. It is very bouncy compared to the original T&N, which I'm sure can be attributed to the coils in the mattress. The pillow top feels very luxurious, I almost didn't want to put our T&N Linen sheets on it. It has great edge support compared to the original which is awesome for certain... activities. It also seems cooler than the original mattress.
Having slept on it a few nights, though, compared to our old mattress it just feels TOO supportive. Does that make sense? I guess my heavy body is used to sinking into the old mattress, and now my spine is actually being supported. I don't feel sore or anything in the morning, I actually feel great. But I keep waking up in the middle of the night and I'm unable to go back to sleep because it's just not the same comfy that I felt before. This means that so far, the Hybrid is causing me to lose sleep. Now I understand bodies need to adjust to new beds so I'm hoping that is what happens. I was just under the impression that the hybrid was a 'soft' mattress.
Will update after sleeping on the Hybrid for a longer time.

Hi there! We appreciate you taking the time to share feedback with us and will pass your comments along to our Product and Quality Assurance teams. Since our Hybrid Mattress is constructed differently than the Original T&N due to the additional layers, springs, reinforced edges, and pillowtop it can certainly contribute to a different feel than what you were familiar with. Additionally, it can take a couple of weeks to get used to sleeping on something new and for the new mattress to break-in. Of course, our Customer Experience team is always happy to help with anything you need moving forward. Please reach out to support@tn.com or 877-842-2586 if you would like to return or troubleshoot.

Not as firm as advertised

Hybrid or not, this mattress is a softie. It was a very uncomfortable experience and the coils seemed to compress more than they should. I’m 6ft tall, 175lbs, so it should have handled me just fine. In addition, the edges of the mattress were sunken in and if sitting on them they would bottom out. I definitely could not recommend this mattress to anyone after my experience with it.

New Hybrid bed

It is a very comfortable bed. My only negative is that the side of the bed is bending in from sitting on the side to put on sock or even just getting up. The info before buying said it wouldn’t.

We absolutely love this mattress! We went from a foam mattress that we HATED to this hybrid one and we have both slept extremely well. It’s not too firm, not to soft. It’s literally just the right mixture!
