We purchased this machine for our office. It works great! Everyone loves the ice and we are pleased with the machine. Only critique would be that the power button doesn't always turn the machine off and I end up unplugging it to have it shut down. The machine is easy to clean and drain any excess water. We have had this ice maker for about 3 weeks. I will probably get one (or a smaller version) for my home.
I would recommend this to a friend!

On Third Unit In Two Months

I bought this for wife has a birthday present two months ago because she loves nugget ice. I have had two replacement units sent to me. I will say their customer support has been great, but I fear the manufacturer they use for these units has some serious issues. Here is the breakdown of my units, First Unit: Seemed great at first. It made wonderful nugget ice. After about a week, it began making a loud squealing sound for a few seconds. No big deal, I can live with a few seconds of squealing. Then the squeal go louder and lasted longer. I finally contact support when it was lasting 45 seconds. The sent a new unit. Second Unit: When I opened, I saw two pieces of black plastic sitting in the bottom. Clearly something inside broken. I plugged it in to use it anyway and it would not suck at water out of the tank. I unplugged for about three hours and tried again, and it seemed okay at first. Then I noticed a lot of condensation building up at the ice exporting area, and the ice began to just come out as a slush instead of nugget ice. Then it began squealing. I called support and they sent another unit. Oddly, the day the new unit arrived, the second unit began squealing and kept squealing for about 4 minutes until I unplugged it. Third and current unit: From the first time using it, the "Ice Full" light will come on when the ice basket is half full and there is no ice jammed in the top. When this happens, the compressor turns off so it can thaw which means my ice starts melting. We basically just have to constantly watch the unit to press the power button again when Ice Full light comes on. This also mean we get mostly slush and not nugget ice. At least we don't have a squeal though, yet! We thought about just trying to get a refund, but it looks like all of the other brands have similar quality issues. We decided to just keep this third unit since it is not squealing and makes okay ice if we stay on top of pressing the power button. It's just hard to believe a product could have so many manufacturing issues. I've never experienced anything like this with another product. I love the ice when it works, but I have absolutely no faith in the product now. At least customer support is good though.

Struggle to get refund and still waiting 3 weeks out!

Excited at first but quickly were disappointed as the ice was mushy & did not stay frozen long. Not enough for our use. When asking for a refund getting a shipping label took multiple calls & emails. NOW over 3 weeks STILL WAITING on refund. The refund time keeps getting extended out!!

The best kind of ice!

First off, I must say Newair's customer service is top notch. I had an issue with my ice maker being damaged in transit (not their fault) and they were extremely fast to get a replacement sent out and very kind and apologetic in their response when I reached out. As for the actual ice maker, it is a kind of loud, BUT that is due to how the nugget ice is made. It's not like a standard cube so that's to be expected. It makes ice pretty quickly and the ice lasts a good while once fill with the lid closed. The ice itself is awesome, just like Sonic or any other restaurant that uses nugget ice, super crunchy. Overall I'm quite happy with my ice maker and use it everyday. Don't even use the ice from my fridge anymore. Makes for a great cocktail as well!

A Great Ice Maker

I use this unit to make nugget ice almost every day. I had an older unit of this type that had issues, but NewAir was able to replace it under warranty for me. Customer service staff (especially Elizabeth) was amazing to work with! Love the auto defrost the runs every 2 hours, to keep the unit from freezing up.
