Wonderful update to a solid product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had an older Hamilton Beach kettle for a few years and was looking for an upgrade, and this unit delivers. With multiple settings for different tea blends (or just different temperatures, I have found, after a week of using it, that I can safely retire my older unit. Tap water to boiling in less than three minutes, water level clearly shown with a backlit window, it's just a treat.

Awesome Tea Kettle!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Hamilton Beach variable temperature kettle has been a great addition to our kitchen. The brushed stainless steel exterior really catches your eye, whether it's sitting on your kitchen counter or living room coffee table. It holds 1.7 liters of water and it's easy to see how full the kettle is by using the water window that's lit up by blue LEDs on the side. There are 6 different heat settings, ranging from 160°F for delicate blends up to boiling for black teas, and even has a 200°F setting for French press coffees. The kettle heats up quickly and features a keep warm setting to keep the water hot for 30 minutes. There are no cords attached to the kettle, only to the plate underneath, making serving a breeze.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this kettle! It boils a full pot of water in about 20 minutes! You can set it for different temperatures, and it gives suggestions on what that temperature of water would be good for. I.E. coffee, white tea, etc. It keeps water warm for those who like to drink hot tea. It was easy to clean and the directions are easy to follow. My one complaint is that the "whistle" isn't loud enough. So I don't always hear it if I'm in the next room.

Best kettle ever.

It boiled the water faster than when I put the tea bags in a container in my microwave. The lady of the house is a big hot tea drinker and she loves the kettle. The different temperature settings are a great additional feature, one she will take advantage of for her different teas.

Electric Kettle Convert!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wasn't sure a person needed an electric kettle. In fact, I don't even own a stovetop kettle. I've always heated water in the microwave or in a saucepan on the stove. It turns out this kettle is pretty handy! It heats super fast and without me having to babysit it the way I do with the stovetop. As an added bonus, there are no worries about that dangerous superheated boil microwaved water can have when the surface is still, but when the hot cocoa touches it violently reacts and blows all over. With just the press of a button this kettle heats the water to the exact temp you select. The automatic turn off feature means no worries over boiling dry either...one less thing for this mom to be worrying about. If you have a family of more than a couple people, you'll appreciate being able to heat water for everyone's hot cocoa or instant cider safely, and all at once. My older school age kids can easily use this kettle too. Ramen soup and instant oatmeal are simple once you teach them how to use the kettle properly. Be sure to instruct users to push down on the safety press spot on the top when closing the lid. That spot could stand to be a bit larger, but it shouldn't be a problem if you're careful to point out the importance of this in the beginning. The inside of the kettle is smooth and has no exposed element, making it easy to clean. I'll close by mentioning that the kettle is quite stylish looking. My kitchen appliances are in black stainless and the kettle fits right in. It looks upscale enough that I won't need to hide it away in a cabinet. The blue LED glow of the water fill window is a nice touch too. It makes it easy to see exactly how much water you're boiling and when you've got the kettle properly seated on the base. I like this thing!

The settings are easy to understand. The kettle looks professional so I don't mind keeping it on my counter. The body does get hot, only use the handle after heating.

Multiple temperatures quickly heat a perfect cup

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I turn this kettle every morning before I get into the shower so it's ready when I return to the dressing room. It's a small little luxury I have really come to enjoy. Black, red & white tea are my favorites to brew and the variable temperature controls make preparing these teas perfectly effortless. To program the type of tea you would like to prepare press the up/down arrows until it highlights the tea you want. Heat-up is super quick. The ability to remove the kettle from the base without the cord being attached to the kettle is a super convenient feature. I've always used a kettle on the stovetop on high with any tea flavor but it really does make a major improvement in the flavor of the tea when it's heated to the optimal temperature. The look if the kettle is a brushed softback stainless steel with a clear viewing window at the back of the kettle that is lighted blue. I would give this as a gift for the holidays because the price point is fair and its the type of gift you always think about giving yourself.
