Outdoor solar cameras

These cameras are great. I have mounted one on 12’ tall poles in my yard. These view my house from a distance of 30 to 60 feet. They observe visitors after they have arrived and are at my house perimeters near the outside doors and windows. I also have roof soffit mounted cameras watching incoming visitors as they approach. These complete my “partnering package” system.

Disappointed

I bout two of these and a wifi Xtreem camera over a year ago. Our wifi system is above average and wifi devices inside and outside our house work excellent. Except for the Swann cameras. The hard wired Swann system is excellent though. I would not buy a Swann wifi camera again. They drop out a lot, completely miss recording day and night. Getting footage in the app is not good, and clunky. Again the hard wired is great and has none of these issues. The wifi cameras completely drop off the system, and don’t show up, then need repairing. Out of three wifi cameras as I have them now, one inside the house with a power supply connected is dropped off again, two outside on solar are working but slow, and sometimes just don’t stream. And one of these is refusing to complete an update after being reset. Very disappointed with them all.

Slow and disappointing

Too slow when accessing app. Person will ring door bell and will have left before I get notified. Just way too slow to notify and show the image. Wifi signal at 90% and reset and rebooted to fix. No change. Whole Swann responsiveness via the app very disappointing

Thanks for the feedback. We've reviewed the images you've provided, and the quality appears normal and expected of a 1080p resolution camera. The 2nd image however, does look irregular and appears to have moisture on the lens. If the moisture is on the inside of the lens, we suggest contacting our customer support line and they'll gladly replace it for you. If you're looking for better video quality, try upgrading to our 4K resolution cameras that have 4 times the number of pixels. - AP

A great basic outdoor camera

This outdoor camera can be placed anywhere as the solar panel delivers the power needed. I put my 5th Swann camera on the roof. It was installed easily and works without any problems, i absolutely love and recommend it.

Slow Live view connection

Great product but extremely slow to provide Live View video. Have had to redo Wifi connections/ reset and relink multiple cameras to get them to work again. Have 4 of these to cover the property and they all worked great for a few weeks and then needed resetting and reconnecting to my network.

Connection stability can sometimes be affected by Wi-Fi signal strength, interference, or network congestion. Save your money had nothing but trouble with this setup. The camera is always offlined and The solar panel does not charge the camera enough without you having to charge it manually within a month.
