Solid quality, looks nice.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I liked the finished product, but make sure you have 4 hours or so to put this together. Instructions were simple, but there are many little pieces. My main issue I had with it was the cabinent door. It took a long time to adjust to make sure it would shut properly. I ended up using this as a coffee station and record player space, any it looks nice with my other darker wood furniture. Although a pain to put together, it's a nice, solid feeling heavy piece of furniture.
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am so happy that I chose this piece. The style is mid-century modern, which I am a huge fan of. I feel that it can be left as is and can stand out as a modern piece ir you can accessorize it to be more transitional and fit into a slightly more traditional home. I put this ouece into my dining room to sit alongside my amish made medium cherry table and though it is a little darker, it complements it well. I love that it has 2 open shelves along the top but then has plenty of hidden storage with the drawers and door for extra linens and serving items.
My husband said it was an easy build with very clear directions. It came well labeled and packaged and if you've ever built some of the other very popular "assemble yourself" branded furniture my husband said it is very comparable in quality and assembly. I wasn't timing him exactly, but I'd say it was an an hour and a half/2 hour build time for the piece with him stopping for a quick bite to eat.
I am excited to get it all accessorized for the holiday and would choose this piece if furniture again and again!

The ease of putting it together was good because they provide very clear and concise directions which is refreshing when it comes to putting together furniture these days. I love the color, it's a nice deep brown and it's heavy giving it a feeling of a very expensive piece. I will definitely recommend this product to anyone.

Easy to put together

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was exactly what we needed. After moving into a new apartment, furniture was hard to come by. Not only was this affordable, but it is very stylish and fit in perfectly with our motif. It was very easy to put together and did not take a long time. The box itself is very, very heavy, so getting it in and out of the apartment was a little harder than I expected. Definitely requires two people.

It Looks Great, But Will It Last?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a very, very lovely looking piece of furniture from Walker Edison. It nails the mid-century modern look perfectly. I do have some issues with the way it must be assembled and held together and overall quality. First, this is not an easy thing to assemble. Luckily, the instructions are incredibly detailed and easy to follow. I was stunned at how clear each step was explained and illustrated, so you don't have to a pro, but you shouldn't be a novice either. One person can do most of the assembly. But it is not a quick job. It took me almost 3 hours. Overall, I found it odd how some things were connected with sturdy screws and others were connected with dowels and wood glue. The strangest assembly item is the use of very odd "cam locks and nuts." I found this attachment part to be difficult to do properly and almost disastrous in two instances. I tightened the cam the same way I had in other places and cracked the wood! Twice! So that's either me tightening it too much or the wood wasn't very strong. These pieces are not made of solid wood, but akin to particle board, so beware. But the cracks are ever so slight and hidden inside a drawer space, so I didn't worry over it. Another odd choice with the construction is the fact that the panels on the back are ultra-thin particle boards that are held in place by tiny rubber wedges that are fastened with one small nail each. It looks fine, but it is the least sturdy portion of the sideboard. The drawers attach firmly and with good metal fasteners. But, one of the drawers sticks a bit, so it doesn't slide as smoothly as the others. The cubby door was surprisingly easy to attach, but I recommend having someone hold the door while you attach it. But the screws provided to attach it aren't very long, which makes me worry about the longevity of the door's hinge staying in place. Is it a great piece of furniture for the price? Yes, absolutely. It looks really great. I was very proud at the end. I felt like I had BUILT a piece of furniture rather than "assembling" it. Will it tolerate heavy uses? I'm not sure. It's a good suggestion to use extreme care when opening and closing the drawers and door. Did I mention how great it looks? It really does!
