Very versatile, but with a couple quirks

Works great at from low to high temps (250 F to 800+ F). The two tier cooking is nice and use of the deflector plates offers a lot of versatility for direct and indirect smoking to high temp grilling. Very solid and when adjusted properly, it will be airtight when finished cooking to save charcoal. The quirks are having the side tables made of plastic, rather than heat proof metal, and especially having all four wheels able to spin making it sometimes squirrels to maneuver, especially into a smaller BBQ shed. Also, the rubber wheels fell apart after several years. Replaced them with 4" (from the original 3") making it somewhat easier to maneuver.

Fantastic looking, incredibly efficient and creates some of the best food we've ever eaten. Great for smoking, cooking and warming food. Absolutely stunning piece of kit.

Best investment for my backyard!

I’ve had my Classic Joe Series II for a few years now, and it has completely changed how I cook outdoors. The air lift hinge is a total game-changer—I can lift the lid with a single finger. It holds temperatures incredibly well, whether I'm doing a low-and-slow brisket or searing steaks at high heat. The Kontrol Tower top vent is also great for keeping settings consistent even if it’s raining. If you’re on the fence, just get it. The build quality is top-notch and the food tastes significantly better than a standard gas or charcoal grill.

8 years and going strong!!

I purchased my KJ Classic Joe II in 2018 and I have ran way over 1,000 cooks on it. From quick cooks to low and slow cooks, this KJ II has been on point each time. Proper maintenance has kept my KJ in tip top form.

Texas Grilling Done Right

We absolutely love our Kamado Joe charcoal grill — it’s the only grill we use anymore. My husband is a true Texas griller, and this grill delivers every single time.
There is just something about cooking over real charcoal, and the Kamado Joe makes it incredibly easy to control temperature while still giving you that authentic wood-fired flavor. It especially shines with tomahawk steaks — perfectly seared on the outside with a deep, rich crust and unbelievably juicy inside.
But it’s not just for steaks. He makes incredible ribs and brisket that would make any Texan proud, and every Thanksgiving our turkey goes on the Kamado Joe. The flavor is unmatched.
One of our favorite things he does is smoke turkey breast and slice it for homemade lunch meat. It tastes better than anything from the store, and we love knowing exactly what’s in it.
The heat retention is outstanding, the smoke flavor is bold but clean, and the versatility is incredible. From weeknight dinners to holiday feasts, this grill handles it all.
If you love true charcoal flavor and serious Texas-style cooking, this is the grill to own.
Five stars all the way.
