Peace of mind

I love this product because it is always with your child (if they keep it on!) and there is a lot of parental control from the app. You will have to make it a habit for your child to put it on the charger as soon as they get home as the battery doesn't last all day if they are playing with it too much. Now that our child is over the honeymoon phase, she just uses it like a watch.
The SOS button is too easy to activate, needs to be a longer press. Make sure they wear it on their left wrist to prevent bumping it.
It keeps buzzing while at school, even with the school mode on, so I'm not sure what that is. And, I always get messages to say it's been turned on then off and then on again. My child says she is not touching it so I don't know what this is either. Safe zones are a great idea, but I've found notifications sometimes have a bit of a delay, so location isn't always that accurate. But if you're not sure where they are, then just ring them.
My child is 11 and I bought the grey colour so it doesn't look like a 'baby' watch. It looks really nice and not as distracting as a phone. I don't think I needed to buy the next version for longer battery life or waterproof ability. She is always going to remove it to swim and just puts it on the charger when she gets home.

Great for purpose

I got this watch for my 12 yo. It works well, and does exactly what I got it for - making sure he can contact us to become more independent. I am worried he will get it wet as I had heard that was an issue, but so far so good!

Wonderful device - very happy with it

This is the second SPACETALK I've purchased, this time for my son. I've never had any issues with it - it works really well and is very reliable. So nice to have peace of mind when kids are at a friends place or at weekend sport.

Peace of mind for all

Well I lost my kids (8&9) whilst camping. Never been so scared in my life. Thank goodness it was a communication breakdown and we all reconciled. I researched for 3 days on smart watches. I can not rate these watches high enough. Gives independence as well as peace of mind. 3 of our friends have now purchased them.

It’s safe in that it blocks messages and calls from all contacts that are not explicitly in her contact list.

High cost for the functionality.
It is too easy to inadvertently activate the SOS.
Ongoing costs for phone plan and Spacetalk functionality are not clear prior to purchase.
Not clear what functionality is available without the Spacetalk subscription.
Persistent “no connection†error when it can happily make and receive messages and calls.
Woeful battery life even after disabling the location reporting.

Not as good as expected.

Considering the cost we were expecting a lot more. The monthly sim card and subscription could have been used for a mobile or iphone rather than this watch. The battery barely lasts the day. I have to ask my daughter to turn it on at lunch so I can be sure to reach her by the end of day.
She insisted on getting it but often doesn't wear it. I feel quite disappointed.
Possibly recommend for very young children but not aged 10+
