Powerful, with many options!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We upgraded our dryer to the Top Load Electric Dryer with Extra Power - 7.0 cu. Ft. and so far we haven’t regretted our decision at all. It is large and powerful, drying clothes quickly and thoroughly, though it is louder than my previous dryer…still that’s a trade a make a million times over.
The dryer came in a heavy buffered box, ensuring it was pristine as we installed it. The paint was flawless, pearl white! The dryer didn’t have the cord attached, but my husband is pretty handy and had it wired up in no time (the instructions are very clear about how to do it, and it isn’t at all complicated.) After attaching the exhaust vent tube, we were ready to go in under 30 minutes.
All the knobs are very clearly labeled, and it is intuitive to use. They turn smoothly and easily (which was my main complaint with my old machine). They make a delightful click as they turn from setting to setting, and I get a surprising amount of satisfaction from this.
My kids had no problem figuring out how to use the machine as well, which makes the mom in me very happy. One of my favorite features is the Wrinkle Prevent setting, in case you can’t get your laundry out and folded right away (I’m not always super efficient…shocker I know, right moms?)
Another thing I love is that the lint filter is on top of the machine as opposed to the inside of the door. It’s easier to remove, and anything that saves me having to bend over is a win.
I will say that this machine is much louder than my old machine (also a Maytag), but this isn’t a concern of mine, I just wanted to note it in case it would matter to you, my reader. I do have a concern about the control panel shorting out over time, as you have to hold down on the start/pause button until all the lights illuminate, and sometimes I don’t seem to be doing it right, so I have to try again. This may be a case of me just not being used to it, so I’ll wait and see. I do give Maytag the benefit of the doubt as my old machine lasted a very long time without issue (in fact it’s still going strong at a rent house…I just wanted something that could handle larger loads.)
All that said, I am a very satisfied Maytag dryer user, and very happily recommend

Great dryer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m really happy with this Maytag dryer. It’s got loads of features, and it does what it’s supposed to really well. Something you should be aware of when you buy, you need to buy a power cable and 4” vent hose and attach both. I believe they don’t supply the power cord as there is no one standard wall plug, this means you can make sure you can use it without having to rewire your socket. It’s really easy to do, and the instructions guid you, you just need a screwdriver and the cable. The dryer is quiet, and does a great job of drying large loads, with the large drum and moisture sensing, I was impressed how well it does bedding, especially comforters. But it’s equally good at drying delicates too. I really love the wrinkle prevention feature, if you’re like me and constantly forget to take the clothes out, this feature really save some heavy ironing! It feels solidly made, and with the 10-year warranty on drive and drum, this dryer is a great choice. I’m really happy with it, and highly recommend!

Great unit - stiff buttons

Bad Choice.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I thought I was getting a simple dryer - like my old Maytag. The controls didn’t look complicated, price was good and so was I until I read the manual and tried to turn it on. Push one button, then hold the second until it lights up. Stop a load mid cycle and you need to do it all over again? What? Cycle signal still doesn’t work, need to read the manual again. Oh and if you change settings after you start a cycle it doesn’t dry at all. I want my 40 year old Maytag back!

The inside is huge so drying big loads or bulky items works just perfect! I love how it’s like dryer back in the day and has so many controls to play with. Only downfall I have found is with my arthritis it’s a bit harder to hold the button down to start the dryer since it has to be held down to start. Other than that the dryer is absolutely amazing.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this dryer to replace our old Maytag dryer that we've had for 12 years. It was an easy decision on what brand to choose. Maytag has always delivered with quality products. We have a lot of laundry at home and need good, reliable products that last! So many awesome new features. The dryer door is reversible, lint screen is on top of the unit. It has 3 different dry settings; timed dry, auto dry (less, normal, more), and air dry. There is also a separate temperature knob (low, medium, high). Drum size is huge! You can dry a king size comforter with no difficulty. Very easy to operate! Highly recommend any Maytag products!

Serious design flaws

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Dryer takes 3 confusing steps to turn on. This may be due to some hope to make it childproof, but in effect it is adult-proof, given that I, with rheumatoid arthritis, and my mother, 87, have to really struggle to turn it on! She can no longer do laundry independently because she cannot consistently manage the sequence of operations to turn it on. Also, the top surface curves down so that nothing can rest on it. Neither of these faults was obvious from the pics online. I will never buy an appliance online again.
Its one redeeming grace is that it does do a good job drying once we get it going. No person who ever actually does or did laundry would ever design a dryer like this. I am very disappointed in Maytag, whom I had trusted to make a useful machine. No more.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
