Plenty to like, but plenty of caveats

I work IT for a startup, and I was thinking of making the T14 our go-to device for new hires due to the balanced spec and price. Tried out both the AMD model and this Gen 2 Intel, but I did not try the Gen 1 Intel. Between the two, I found the AMD to be the better value spec for spec, but there are a few extra features on the Gen 2 Intel model that I like.
First, the trackpads are quite different. The Gen 1 AMD has a more textured trackpad while the Gen2 Intel has a nice, smooth trackpad. A small thing, but sometimes it's the small things that make or ruin an experience. Win here for Gen 2
Next, only Intel models have Thunderbolt. Sure, AMD still has USB-C, but there is a difference. Now I WOULD give this as a win to the Intel models, BUT these USB-C/Thunderbolt ports are flawed. And here is where I can't recommend either T14 to certain users.
My company uses a manufacturer-agnostic docking station that is Thunderbolt over USB-C. This docking station has worked well with laptops from a certain competitor as well as laptops from the fruit company. The docks will not work with either T14. On the AMD model, I get power but nothing else. On this Intel model, I get power delivery and a monitor but no ethernet or peripherals plugged into the USB-A ports. Lenovo has some firmware problems that need fixing, because this issue does not happen on their competitors. Don't use docking stations at your workplace? Well, then I can give the T14 a recommendation.
The one thing I love about the T14 is the SODIMM slot. It's a nice-to-have option for employees who happen to need a bit more RAM for their workflow.
Finally, I'm not a big fan of the placement of the left function key. I expect ctrl to be there, not fn. YMMV
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the standard workhorse for business users. Excellent build quality and specifications for the price.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Affordable and shipped quickly! This is a great quality for typical office work. We ordered 13 of them at once and our staff have been pleased with the speed and that they are light weight.

I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] T14 series is a great robust laptop. Because of it's smaller size, it makes it easier to carry. We received these quicker than expected.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So far so good. I've had my T14 Gen 2 for about a week, and it's performing exceptionally well. Boot time and loading of applications is very fast, the i7 processor can handle multiple tasks efficiently: a YouTube video playing, while I download programs and set things up, while also running Excel. I haven't tried gaming yet, but I think it would run fairly light games well. The keyboard is excellent, very tactile and easy to type on. The Fn commands are easy to see and use. The fan is even quieter than a lot of the reviews I watched before buying suggested. It's light enough to be comfortably carried in my shoulder bag. And, I'm looking forward to setting up a desktop UI with a nice monitor, full size keyboard, and some better speakers with a docking station, all via the built in Thunderbolt connection and the built in Ethernet port.
I am overall very pleased. This is my 3rd Lenovo computer in about 15 years. The previous two, a much older T14, and then an X1 Carbon Gen 2, both ran for at least 7 years. And, I think this computer should last me as long or longer.
