I'm amazed!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My wife and I had owned a robot vacuum a few years prior and were not impressed due to it getting constantly stuck and its overall cleaning ability. The Shark AI Ultra 2-in-1 Robot Self Empty XL has restored our faith in robot vacuums. This vacuum has three functions that all work amazing so far in our testing and use: vacuuming, mopping and self-emptying. The vacuuming function can be accessed from both of the inserts included (the one for vacuuming or the one for mopping). The battery seems to last between 90-120 minutes per use, but the best part is it will return to the dock before it dies and then resume its cleaning task after it charges back up. Since we own two australian shepherds and an orange tabby cat, our house is not a stranger to pet hair. This vacuum so far has done an excellent job picking up it all and dumping it in the self-empty reservoir. When you are ready to mop you simply press a button and replace the vacuuming head with the mopping head. It comes with two lines that show you how far to fill it up with water and how much of the cleaning solution you place in it. When starting a mopping task it does an excellent job mopping in straight lines using it's new LIDAR technology. Whether I start these tasks using my alexa or straight from the Shark app on my phone, I know I can come home to a clean house with minimal effort which is a huge plus. The self-empty reservoir boasts being able to forget it for around 60 days until it itself needs emptied. If you have pets you will find yourself emptying it more but it is large enough where you can go a few weeks without having to worry about it. Overall, I am extremely pleased with this unit!

Excited but disappointed.

I have been shopping for a robot vacuum and mop for a while now and finally settled on the Shark, for a list of reasons, mainly becuase I LOVE Shark and Ninja products. Now that I have had a chance to use it several times, I have found several flaws in the equipment that have me torn and considering returning it and buying a different brand.
Let's start with the positives. It cleans very well! I actually vacuumed with my upright Shark and then let this robot go and as shocked at how much it pulled up from the floor that my upright had left behind. The mopping action is great! My floors really do look amazing. If it worked as it claimed and would allow you to do the whole house vacuum and mopping without changing out the attachment, and didn't get stuck every day for no apparent reason, it would be perfect.
Here's the problem. The last 2 days are the first 2 days running while I'm away and both times were failures. Yesterday, it got stuck on the transition strip between 2 rooms. Not sure how because it had handled it just fine the day before. But there it laid, stuck after just 15 minutes, and unable to finish the job. Today, it is telling me the brushroll must be cleaned in order to continue. There is nothing excessive on the floor or stuck in the vacuum. It's just from regular stuff (hair and dirt) in the brushroll as it just vacuumed the same floor last night. On top of that, since there is an error messgae it cannot return to the base to charge. So, it just sits in there, for no apparant reason, while the battery dies and my floors stay dirty.
It also cannot do the whole floor at once. Other models have the vacuum and mop in one, this one requires 2 separate attachments. When the mop attachment is on, it does not touch the carpet at all until you manually switch the attachment. Other models simply lift the mopping pad and stop spraying water but the Shark will not touch the carpeted areas. So, it almost defeats the purpose of having it in the first place. Oh yea, and the battery life is awful, though that issue alone would be tolerable since it will charge and resume on it's own.
Overall, this would be an awesome vacuum/mop if it didn't have so many flaws. I'm torn because it truly does clean well but the flaws almost defeat the purpose. The app is also not great compared to others. I have never had anything bad to say about my Sharks or Ninja products so I'm definitely disappointed.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Perfect for assisting with floor cleaning

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I needed a robotic floor vacuum for my living room since I have pets and the hair builds up fast and is never ending. I would constantly be grabbing pieces of hair with my hands or sweeping but now with the assistance of my new shark robotic vac, the floor is significantly cleaner and I love that I don’t have to dump the vac out since it does it automatically at the base unit which can accumulate quite a lot before needing to be emptied. I’m not sure with my level of cat and dog hair it would make it to 60 days, but definitely 1 month plus. That’s amazing for me and my pet family. I also love that the unit doesn’t get tangled up with hair since it has the self-cleaning brushroll. This model has the AI that uses a laser that maps out my house with ease. Lastly and consequently, my favorite feature of this unit is the fact that it vacuums and sonic mops all in one. Quite an upgrade from just normal robotic vacuums. Overall, the features list of this unit are amazing and it’s working wonderfully for me. Definitely will need one for upstairs.
