This thing sucks!

Best robot vacuum so far. We vacuum our house everyday. We vacuumed that morning. Received the shark around 12:00. Set up was breeze started vacuuming shortly after and it picked up so much. Our floors feel much cleaner and we’re shocked at how much it picked up.

Mop feature is excellent

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My family was very excited to get the Shark Robot vacuum. We have dogs, cats and two kids in our family, so I was really hoping this would help cut down on the amount of times we needed to vacuum. Upon opening the box and pulling out to set up, we realized we did not have enough wall space for the robot vacuum. The vacuum base needed several feet on each side of it, plus several feet out in front to be able to manuver off and on the base. After a few days, we rearranged furniture in the living room and were finally able to set it up. Set up was easy. We were able to give the vacuum a name and affectionately call it Sharky. It charged up overnight and the next day it mapped the house. We were able to use the app to mark off specific areas we didn’t want it to go.
Our house is small, about 1,000 square feet. One of our dogs is a Great Pyrenees mix, which sheds a decent amount. Unfortunately, this vacuum does not pick up the little tuffs of fur sitting on top of the carpet (even on the ultra mode). It does pick up, because the container on the base fills up and needs dumped several times a week. Despite having a small house and only cleaning the living room, dining room/kitchen area, and two bedrooms and a small bathroom, the vacuum does not have enough battery to do this in one go. The first time we ran it, I didn’t realize it wasn’t done (it went back to the dock to charge) and it ended up waking us up later because it restarted after we went to bed.
In the kitchen, it does a decent job on the kitchen floor, but can’t get under our cabinets well and does a lot of bouncing around under the kitchen table. To clean our whole house it takes over an hour the first run through and then has to recharge and finish up later in the day. Also, the roller on the bottom gets hair wrapped around it, even though it’s supposed to have a feature to minimize that. We have had to clean the roller multiple times in the last few weeks.
The mop feature worked surprisingly well. We first ran it on a slightly raining day and it cleaned up the muddy paw prints. We have our base station on carpet and the vacuum will not go back to the base over carpet when it has the mop on.
Overall, I think this would be a handy gadget if you did not have a long-haired dog that sheds and you could run it when you are out of the house. Unfortunately, it just didn’t pick up the dog hair well and we still had to run our regular vacuum daily. With it not being able to clean in one go there have been multiple times it starts running again at inconvenient times. We will be mostly using this for the mop feature.
Pros: Easy to set up, easy to use, mopping feature, decently quiet, animals are not bothered by it.
Cons: Battery life, does not pick up tuffs of fur off carpet, can’t run through the house without recharging (1000 sq. foot home), takes up 6 plus feet of wall space when you account for the maneuverability needed for the vacuum.
I would recommend this to a friend!

It does exactly what is said about it. It works marvelously on carpet, wooden floors, even tiles it's wonderful. It runs quite a long time without returning to the base. This is one incredible robot vacuum. I haven't done the muffin just yet it's the first time I'm using it. I will do another update when I do use the mopping section.

I love how this maps your house and you can schedule rooms. It does sweep and mop pretty good. The issue I am having is the vacuum/mop canister doesn’t self empty dust and the dirt/dust gets wet somehow in the dust canister so I am having to repeatedly wash out the dust bin and then dry it out before using again.It has a good warranty and I am hoping that they will redesign for the couple issues that it has!

Ive had this for almost 2 weeks and it functions awesomely. The only issue i have with the shark ai ultra 2 in 1 self empty is its poor instructions and how things work. To be able to manufacture something so technical and not have adequate documantion. Why i state this is the most convent place to put the home base was in the bedroom on CARPET. There is a pop up for maybe 1 second that states" Ares covers your shark dock. You will have to move your bot to hardwood floor to begin mopping. i'm guessing ill have to relocate the base to a hardwood floor. When i pick the bot up and set it on the floor to be mopped and start when done it wants to return to dock. NOT a goos thing as the dirty mop pad dirtied my light colored carpet. I guess for now to mop i will have to pick up and return to base manually by hand
Would be nice to know how to operates both mop and vacuums when base is located on carpet.

I am debating on whether to send back. It is supposed to see things, but never sees my husband’s boots. So I always wake up to it being stuck in his super long shoe laces. I have long hair and my hair builds up on the roller, didn’t do that with my older name brand. I wanted the cheaper brand and you get what you pay for I guess.

I noticed that you mentioned hair builds up around the brushroll. I would suggest scheduling daily cleaning missions through the SharkClean app. By having the robot run more frequently it will break up the hair that may be wrapped around the brush roll.
