It says it's compatible with older models, however, I don't think it's really all that safe with an older model (1026). You can't secure the head at all.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

compatible but not safe

4moms responded to my review by stating is was compatible with older models. I'd like to point out compatible does not mean safe. It just means it fits. It is very unsettling that you can't attach the insert at the head and I don't feel comfortable using the swing without an insert. So now we are 0 for 2.

So the insert is necessary, especially if you wanna put a newborn in the (mama roo or the other one), but it is also not enough cushion and I find myself still having to pad and I have a 90th percentile baby. Also why do a lot of baby’s hate the equipment? Y'all need to go back to the drawing board.
