Good laptop, horrible QC

There really isn't any other laptop on the market that has every feature this one provides. However, it stopped turning on properly after only about 2 weeks of light use. Will update review based on my RMA experience.

Best Overall 16-inch 2-in-1 Laptop for 2022

1. Design and Construction:
I appreciate that ASUS went for an all-metal build again, but this time it doesn't scream "I'm a gamer". I like the ribbed/ridged design aesthetic, it's muted but also sophisticated. The only gripe I had was with how wobbly the screen hinge can get when you try to lift the laptop while the screen is folded at a certain angle (around less than 25 degrees or 160 degrees; anything else in between is fine), but this is because it's such a top-heavy screen due to the miniLED panel and the addition of a digitizer. I also like that it's a convertible, meaning it can go 360 degrees as needed. It is an otherwise hefty tablet, but there will be times where it is useful (I've already used it in tablet mode 4 times in 6 days). I like the thin bezel setup and the fact that it's a 16-inch screen in a 15-inch chassis. There's not a lot of I/O ports but that's okay, I've always had a dongle which can be easily attached. I wish the rubber feet on this device were taller, as I felt that it was too small for the air vents to do its job properly. Oh and it's very portable at 4.4 lbs by itself and the 240W charger only adds a bit of extra weight. It can charge fast via USB-C (I use a 100W PD charger) and it charges from 20% to 90% in 1 hour.
2. Keyboard and Trackpad:
Great keyboard, although I wish it was mechanical soft-touch with longer travel. The difference is negligible though, 1.7mm vs. 1.9mm (from what I'm used to) is small. I appreciate the keycaps being shaped concave instead of just flat. The keyboard is fairly quiet and I had no issues typing on it because the keys are adequately spaced apart. I don't care so much for per-key RGB so this single-zone RGB backlight on the keyboard is enough for me.
3. Screen:
This is the main selling point as to why I purchased this laptop. The MiniLED display is gorgeous, achieving great contrast levels especially with the multi-zone backlight setting. It's not as perfect as pitch-black as in OLED displays, but it being MiniLED also means it won't be as susceptible to screen burn-in in the long run. I like that it's 16:10 so that affords me more things to display on a 16-inch screen. The touch screen function is also great to have, and had no problems with it. I recommend putting a screen protector on it because it's such a gorgeous display.
4. Hardware and Performance:
The version I have has 1 TB SSD, 32 GB of RAM, AMD Ryzen 6900HS, RTX 3070Ti (Max TGP: 125W with 8 GB of VRAM). The SSD and RAM are upgradeable, although I didn't feel the need to upgrade for now. No hiccups or problems encountered thus far. Games were a breeze to play with, and FPS were appropriate based on the averages presented by a laptop RTX 3070 Ti in other laptops, although it was on the lower side due to it having the AMD versus Intel CPU. But honestly the difference is so negligible that you won't even notice it in real-time play. The speakers were adequately loud and never got tinny, but I wanted more bass out of it. Make sure to activate enhanced sound on windows settings and dynamic setting on Dolby Access Audio for the best experience. The biggest weakness of this laptop is its bad 720p webcam. There's just no going around it. Yes it has Windows Hello with IR, but this camera is a potato. A useful but nonetheless pixelated potato of a webcam especially in low-light settings. I wish it had a 1080p webcam at least (or a 720p webcam but with good light detection and quality) and it would've been perfect already. Another weakness is its temperature when under heavy load, which is understandable given its thin and light construction. But I wish the rubber feet were taller/thicker, because the 3 exhaust fans are doing a great job at making sure the heat escapes but it tends to take a longer time than expected to go out because it is choked by the small feet on all sides of the laptop. It has an input for the external GPU but since the 3070 Ti isn't far behind from what the eGPUs offer, I don't see the need to hook it up with that for now. But having the option to do so is great.
5. Battery Life:
This has been AMD's strength for a while now, and it continues with this laptop. I got 4.5 to 6 hours of continuous use (on "best power efficiency" setting) with the dedicated GPU turned off. For gaming while on battery, it lasted 1.5 hours. For a thin and light 2 in 1 laptop, this is great. The 240W charger charges it fast, and so does when it is charged via USB-C.
6. Price and Availability:
For its price, I still think it's worth it. I had an extremely hard time trying to find this particular configuration that I wanted for this laptop, as many sellers only had those with a regular IPS panel and an RTX 3060.
7. Conclusion:
While it's not a perfect laptop, the many pros (display, battery life, performance versus its weight, form factor, convertible design, keyboard, speakers) outweigh its 3 major cons: bad webcam, small rubber feet, and screen hinge strength (but only at a certain angle). If you have the money and are looking for a very flexible laptop that can do work and play, this is it. Until someone produces a laptop that outclasses this and addresses the 3 major cons, I'm sticking with this one.

Creative and gaming laptop dream

This laptop is exactly what I was looking for, which was a little bit of everything. The screen is great for creative work with its popping colors and wide color space. The screen size is good for work and play as well at 16" and the 16:10 ratio is awesome. Pen support is great especially when doing photo editing and some casual drawing. The laptop is no slouch with gaming either and the 3070ti does great at keeping up with the 165hz refresh rate. I would highly recommend the investment!

Great Laptop (1 minor bug)

Very nice and firm build. Very nice screen. It runs the games as I expected (everything high to max). The only issue I have had is when I try to use my Razer mouse on the usb wirelessly. It tries to install the driver in to the keyboard drivers and it interferes with laptop's keyboard typing. Putting the mouse on Bluetooth and disconnecting the USB solves the issue.

You had one job (the xg mobile dock)

Powerful and sleek... But it doesn't work well with the rog xg mobile... The dock doesn't seem to provide enough to the laptop at least that what assume is happening as it cycles constantly between "PD" and "Battery" and unfortunately having the main power supply connected just makes it cycle been the two... Making the rog xg mobile dock... It's main gimmick, useless. As a stand alone laptop it was great though.

Lots of power with several issues

Lots of power. Mine has a ton of bugs.
PROS- i like the ability to use a stylus in Adobe Suite. It's awesome to draw directly on the screen. It easily commands PC games and even Playstation remote when I want to game. The mini LED screen is awesome! The webcam is only 720p but it's sufficient for my needs when using zoom or google hangouts.
CONS - The key's sometimes have a delay - and when it kicks back on, it will stick on a key (if this is ENTER it scrolls down the page until you hit ESC... or if it's the letter g it will ggggggggggggggggggggg until you hit ESC). The battery has issues - sometimes when I unplug it and plug it back in later once the battery needs charging, it will not actually show the charger connected until I restart the computer. Sometimes when in settings or using WINDOWS EXPLORER or working within the WIN11 UI it will pop a window or option up and quickly disappear - or not allow you to select things - or have a flashing screen that you cannot stop... once these start you it will continue to do so until you restart (closing the app or program will not fix the issue.)
Maybe mine is a lemon. I purchased mine at Bestbuy and I have until mid January to return it. They are currently out of stock. I will first attempt to replace it and see if the replacement has the same issues (which I hope it doesnt because I want to keep it!)
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
