Nice watch, but not as good as I had hoped.

I bought the 255 to replace an aging Forerunner 235. I was told that the newer watch would have quicker response and better overall GPS. One feature I wanted improved is the quicker response to auto pause. It still takes up to 10 seconds to recognize when I have stopped my run, and when I have resumed it. I am also somewhat disappointed in the native watch faces and how dim they are making it difficult to see the time. I also prefer a 24 hour time rather than 12 and that is not an option unless I download a watch face off of Connect IQ, which I will do. Finally, I like using the audio prompts telling you pace and time. I had hoped there would be additional info in the prompts but the choices are limited to the same choices as the 235.
Speaking of Connect IQ - I tried to search thru the 11,000 plus faces available by searching by features, such as 24 hour time, and the search does not yield meaningful results. That's a lot of watch faces to scroll thru without a filter.
I've used Garmin watches for many years and will continue to do so. Garmin Customer service is top notch also.

Love the Garmin 255 Music, but

I am age 75 and an admitted computer idiot but Garmin connect works perfect but Garmin Express works less than perfectly and that's being kind!

The Garmin255 music is the 3, 4 Garmin running watch. Translation, I have been running 55 years and love Garmin and running.
But, am I the issue with Garmin Express or are you honestly having software issues which you will correct in the near future?

I've had my watch for a couple of months now and it is everything I hoped it would be and more. Loaded with features and easy to operate. A great upgrade from my Forerunner 235.

Perfect Running Watch

This watch is the perfect running watch. I upgraded from the Vivoactive 3 Music and this has so many more helpful features. The main reason I purchased this watch was for the multi-band GPS - and it was well worth it just for that! The accuracy is scary good. It even knows when I am running on one side of the road or the other. The GPS accuracy also makes the other running metrics (like pace and distance) more accurate, which is great for helping me improve. Highly recommend!

Awesome Running Watch with Smart Features

I made the switch from a Series 3 Apple Watch to the Forerunner 255 Music for two major reasons: battery life and running-centric features. On those two points, it’s night and day. The battery life significantly better, and it charges insanely fast as well. I’ve worn my Forerunner to track my sleeping as well, which I never really tried with the Apple Watch since I charged it while I slept. The sleep data is part of the Morning Report, which gives you a rundown on any training you have that day, as well as how rested and recovered you are. I also love the Spotify integration and the watch looks great. Highly recommend.

Music feature doesn't work well

This is my first Garmin watch and it does everything well except the music.
I'm using it with Samsung earphones. The music drops occasionally for a second or so. There were times that the music stopped after a song and then I needed to connect/disconnect several time in order for the music to start again.
The screen look great outdoors, crisp and clear.

Just what I needed.

I’ve been running with this for about a month now and it’s exactly what I was looking for. I’m still learning something new that it can do almost every day because it’s really packed with features. Battery life is not quite what I remember them claiming, but that’s about normal for any electronic device. It charges really quickly. I can usually charge it while I’m in the shower after a workout and it’s fine. Overall, great watch so far.

Overpriced. Painfully difficult to figure out. Buy the wirecutter recommendation instead or an Apple Watch.
