Best Forerunner yet for small wrists
on June 20, 2022

I've been in pursuit of the perfect Garmin for small wrists for several years. If it has an "s" in the name, I've tried it. My last three watches have been great, just not perfect. They were the VivoActive 3 (not enough data for me), the FR645 (wasn't durable), and the Fenix 6s (heavy and sat high on my wrist). The 255s finds the sweet spot. It has the data I want and the size and weight are good. The GPS is more accurate than any of my prior watches and I really like the morning report. The only thing needed to make it perfect is a bit more narrow band and a dressed up case (stainless or some other metal). Thanks Garmin for developing a great watch for smaller runners!

Much better than FR245

There is more data given now than the FR245 and it really lasts a lot longer without charging. I thought the smaller screen was going to be a problem (I own FR255S) but, it looks fine.

Great Watch

I got my 225s as an upgrade to my 45s. It’s amazing. It has every sport I need (the list is long). Looks very pretty and feels lightweight. Super exited to continue my training with my new toy.

Want to love it - PLEASE fix the glitches
on July 13, 2022

I purchased my Garmin 255S about two week ago. The smaller size in gray is perfect for a small-framed person and the gray is nice. Initially in love with many of the sweet features (much faster GPS acquisition, improved sleep info, training guidance, HR based suggestions, etc), that love diminished when the watch started glitching. At times, the originally blazing fast GPS acquisition takes significantly (seriously, almost 5 minutes) longer from my driveway and steps don’t show up for long periods of time BUT the kicker is heart rate zones. The reason I use a watch with HR zones is to train effectively. Many of the features are based on those heart rate zones and time spent in them. Unfortunately, after attempting to customize my zones, they are now stuck on seemingly random numbers and cannot be altered (my zone 4 won’t budge from 140-145 bpm). Garmin is aware of this problem as it appears many purchasers are dealing with the same issue. They are working on it but I’ve been told that it’ll be “a while” before engineers have the problem fixed. Customer service, always stellar, can’t fix the problem as it seems to be a software issue.
This watch has a ton of exceptional features that I expect runners ranging from weekend warriors to locally competitive racers will find very useful… once the software glitches are worked out - which I hope will be soon. Until that time, its usefulness may be much more limited

Thank you for posting a review we appreciate the feedback. We are aware of and working on a software update for the heart rate issue that you are seeing. Hopefully early to mid August that update will be released. As for GPS issues we would encourage you to sync your device with the Garmin Express program on your computer as well. If after that sync if you are still having issues please reach out to our team for assistance.

Fun Companion!

This bad boy has it all: heart rate monitoring, O2 metering, and can even tell you when the sun’s going to rise! So, if you’re looking for a watch that not only tells you what time it is, but can recommend what you should do with your time, then this is the one for you!
