It feels delicate and the first drop the top black part came off. My 6 year old moved and accidentally dropped the tablet from the couch and it broke right off, being not that high of a drop but I guess the right drop for it to pop off but it just stays on because of the magnets. I got it because I wanted the color red to show but now I’m regretting it just to show the color.

This was a gift. I wanted a case for my new iPad that was very protective & had a folio cover. But I was given this one because it also has a pencil holder for my Apple Pencil. I was so excited & happy about that. The holder falls off all the time & my pencil falls out. If I forget & pick the iPad up by the side where the holder is, the holder falls off & I have dropped the iPad. The holder is secured with magnets which are not nearly strong enough. If I leave the case off, then the edge of my iPad is left unprotected. Do not recommend!

Otterbox used to be synonymous with rugged, worry-free protection for mobile devices. I've kept an Otterbox on my phone for the better part of a decade but the iPad products haven't been as well designed. I understand the need to go sleek to appeal to more customers but this product has gone too far. It feels fragile. The construction looks lazy and/or incomplete. I had it on my iPad for less than a week and already the transparent part is scratched up. The worst part though is the pencil tray. It's so bad that I thought I had a defective product. One side pulls out further than the other. The four parts that connect it to the main body aren't the same height which is what made me think it was defective but I called and spoke to a representative who confirmed that hers is like that too. When you push it in - similar issue - it doesn't lay flush. It looks like it's broken on the inside. When I do have a pencil in it, I feel like it could break at any time. Definitely not worth the price or the Otterbox name. Needless to say, it will be going back.
