Beautiful laundry tower has given my laundry room a colorful twist. Takes the same amount of floor space as a single machine and the controls are in the center, so very easy to access. Happy with their full capacity and excellent laundry results. Would definitely recommend.

Well designed mechanically, but not enough choice

This is a beautiful, solidly designed machine. It is much quieter than my previous all-in-one, and I love that the controls are all at the center of the unit(s).
For all the intelligent design, however, I cannot fathom why the water temp, especially is so non-adjustable. "Normal" wash cycle will not let you set it for cold water. Why not? Many people and many detergents, have switched to using cold water routinely, to save money and energy use. I have to pretend I'm washing "Bedding" to be able to use cold water. Same problem with "Normal" drying. ONLY high heat is allowed there. I have not used high heat in 20 years. So, again, "Bedding" is my setting. This seems really dumb.

Large inside, small footprint

This one isn't a problem and she can reach the things at the bottom of the dryer. It's a large capacity unit in a small space and because it came already stacked it was easy to install.
It comes stacked so it was easy to install. I like that the dryer knows what was just washed and sets the dryer accordingly.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So far I notice that we are limited to what LG thinks are the settings we need to use. I would rather select what I want. Exp normal load is only high heat. Have only had the tower for 1 month but so far not impressed. ⁰

I love the design and look of this solo comb unit!

Our 4 year old Samsung washer started having problems with stopping during various Our I had purchased matching Samsung washer/dryer 4 years ago and had problems with the washer. A technician came out and determined there was a short problem. He said he would order the part and come back out in a week. We then received a letter from Lowe's saying it would cost more to repair it than it was worth so they refunded our purchase price. I'm not buying anymore Samsung appliances since I've had nothing but problems with them.
This situation required me to do some research for a new washer. We had stacked our Samsung washer and dryer due to limited space so I wanted another stackable combo unit. I decided to go with LG this time since I've had better luck with their products. I then found this new designed one piece washer/dryer unit so I purchased it from Home Depot this time (online purchase).
This combo one-piece unit is 2 inches shorter than the previous Samsung washer/dryer stackable separate units and 1 inch less deep so it fit my space very well. I use a gas dryer and I did the installation myself and luckily no water or gas leaks!
This single combo-unit runs well and they are quieter than the old Samsung separate units. I like the sleek design of this new LG combo unit and how the close the washer and dryer controls are. It looks very stylish and has operated very well so far. I would definitely recommend this unit for those who have space issues.

Missing features and wants to shrink my clothes

I like that this product is space saving, but that's about where my liking of it ends. I miss the old LG washer and dryer that I had to leave behind at my old house. This unit thinks it knows what I want, but it's almost always wrong. It insists on drying my "tumble dry low" clothes on high! Until it can read care labels, I want it to stop telling me that it knows best! I only use the "Timed Dry" option because all the sensor dry options force too high a drying temp or are intended to stop before the items are completely dry. It's also missing critical features like "Rinse and Spin." When a load finishes washing still sudsy (which happens often), I have to start the cycle from scratch because there is no option to only rinse again! Talking about wasting resources. There is an option to add an extra rinse to a full wash cycle, which I often do, but sometimes one extra rinse wasn't enough to remove the suds. I'm using less HE detergent than recommended so I really don't know what the problem is. I really do want my old LG washer and dryer back (but in space-saving form), that had a simple "Custom Program" button and useful features like "Delay Start." I do not want to drive my washer and dryer with a smartphone! What's the point of being able to control it with a smartphone from anywhere in the world when you have to be within arm's reach in order to load it??
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Favorite Washer and Dryer!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm a 70 year old woman who has had a multitude of washers and dryers through my life - this is hands down my favorite washer and dryer ever! First, it looks like a million dollars (I ordered the black steel color). It is so sleek and elegant. Love the all digital controls in the middle. The capacity is larger than my previous full sized name brand stackables. I really appreciate the quiet operation since the unit is located in an open area right off my bedroom. The controls are very intuitive - I never had to read the instruction manual. Also, the washer can handle the tiniest load and still spin out all the excess water. I can't say how often I had to remove still dripping wet clothes from my previous washer because it was incapable of balancing small loads! It does a great job of washing and drying. Couldn't be any more pleased with it - GREAT DESIGN!!!
