Stopped Working after FOUR days!!

I want to say I love it because it’s beautiful, but it literally stopped working after 4 days. We lost ALL of our freezer food and some of our refrigerator food. At this point, I feel like I can only give it a thumbs down. So disappointed. I heard good things about GE. Wondering if we got a lemon.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Lots to like -- didn't live up to the hype

Give lots of thought to your preferences AND how you use a fridge AND, for this model, if you have kids in the mix. I don't have kids so can take the care needed for a white fridge that needs a little extra TLC.
Star explanation: I would have given it 4 stars if it weren’t as pricey as it is.
Pros: Beautiful design, very solid feeling, and great interior color and lighting. I appreciate the adjustable shelf, especially as I'm still getting used to keeping most beverages on the door. The middle drawer is wonderful! Oh, and being able to use magnets is a bonus!
Cons: Ice dispenser is very disappointing. Slow and messy. If that's important to you, keep looking. Exterior texture not consistent among appliances. The fridge, in particular, doesn't have nearly the smooth application of texture that the dishwasher does. One of the inner drawers appears to have been heated/melted by something. It periodically makes a loud(!) humming noise which will go on for quite a while. There is nothing in the trouble-shooting that addresses that. I will open everything, close everything and repeat. Sometimes that seems to be 'the fix', most times it doesn't do anything and I just have to ride it out. The plastic on multiple edges (that I'm assuming was protecting parts) wasn't removed well at all. I will need to use tweezers to (carefully!) get it all off. Black, oily residue was on a number of areas which is a little problematic when you have to be so careful with what you clean it with (both the residue and cleaning needs were mentioned in the ‘guide’). I used gentle dish soap with water and still haven't gotten it all off. Very disappointed with the 'specialty' water filter. If I had known about it before I would have kept looking. There is currently no generic compatible filter because it is "embedded with Leak-Detecting Sensing Technology". I have NEVER had a water filter leak. And, the cost of the filter is nuts. The 'guide' also says that a service tech has to replace the LED Light. What's up w/that kind design? It's like what happened with cars is happening to appliances. Can't say I like it.
I appreciate that it was Made in the USA (I do try to put my consumer dollars here) and hope the quality will improve. If possible, I will provide an update around the 1-year anniversary mark.
Recommendation explanation: I would have chosen "Maybe" if that were a choice as it would depend on the friend (life circumstances, etc). So the "Yes" is with caveats.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great fridge, but has issues

This is the second fridge of this model that we have received in the last year. While we generally love the fridge itself, the first one had a persistent leak that was not repairable, which resulted in a warranty claim, and the new one has a loose plastic piece that doesn't allow the freezer door to fully close, which means that we have to kneel down each time and push the plastic in to close it. Also, trying to get a replacement of the same model took 7+ months! GE needs to get their act together.
