Very disappointed in this slow laptop.

The cursor and screen freezes while scrolling or browsing. It is slow. I can’t install my MS Office Pro Plus 2016 due to an error caused by not being able to install some part of it with error 1713. The case seems cheaply made. The lettering on the keyboard appears to be fading on heavily used keys. The power cord connection is on the wrong side. The power button is in a ridiculous place. I am a long time HP customer and have owned numerous HP products. I am an 80 year old retired computer and network Tier III engineer who worked for AT&T, Lucent Technologies, and Avaya. I am very disappointed with this HP laptop. Not being able to install my licensed Office Pro Plus 2016 is one of my top complaints.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Not stable internet connection

Every couple days the computer refuses to connect to the internet. I had a service person install a new DNS server but that did not solve the problem. Other computers in the house are using the internet when this one can't so it's not the server. I have to reset the server each time this happens. Very disappointing.

I am really fussy about my technology.
Clearly they have done a great job packing almost everything just short of the kitchen sink.
Okay I would really like a backlit keyboard and a slot for my memory sticks. Turning on an overhead light and a USB adaptor solves those issues.
The price makes it even better, this is my "on the couch" laptop, so lots of internet searching, product reviews and shopping. I also do a significant amount of number crunching for my investments and all get done quickly.
I would recommend this to a friend!
