Got it working

The 2 drops of oil is not sufficient to lubricate the chamber for the rubber impeller, motor cannot turn the impeller which causes the smoking. I removed the Impeller cover plate, added oil and manually turned the impeller until it was rotating freely. I switched out the intake hose because it does not relax from it's coiled state in 13C (55F) temperature. Once I fiddled with it and pumped out my barrel, I added oil to the in and outtake chambers to make sure it's lubricated for the next use. Won't know if this solved the issue of the smoking motor until I use it the next time I need to drain water barrels.

I have many of the 24v product snow/sunJow offers. (Snow blower, lawn mower, chainsaw, pole saw, two different leaf blowers, edge trimmer, spray painter, power drill, others). This is the only product that doesn't meet the standards. I got a replacement unit after the first one was only able to run 2 times. The replacement unit only ran once. I have read the manual 3 times now assuming I was using the product or lube incorrectly. I have tried 3rd party lube, used a 4amph bat, nothing I do solves it and eventually during attempts the motor burns itself out.

I was so excited about this. My boat is full of water, and my first project for this tool was going to be to empty it. It does not work. Nothing, nada. Tried both batteries, same thing. I would say 0 stars if I had the option.

Pump is junk

My pump was purchased 6 months ago and not used till today. Battery was inserted and motor raced for about 30 seconds and shut off with smoke and hot to the touch. Tried a second time with another battery, same thing. Took metal plate off and spinner was frozen and unable to turn. Put back in box, and purchased another product that worked, another waisted purchase.

Battery Life is really short

My main complaint is the battery life of this pump and battery plus charger. I had to drain some overflow water in a low spot on my lawn. The battery on this package only lasts 20 minutes at best. It takes 80 minutes to get a full charge. Sun Joe should have a pump that can be powered by a larger output battery. Or better, have a design where you can plug it into an electrical outlet to power it. I have two Ryobi pumps which can be powered by batteries or direct plug in. The least you should do is give the straight scoop on how long the battery will last. The marketing info on this product say it can be used to drain a toilet tank or bowl as well as a basement. You would have to have multiple charged batteries to accomplish this.

Great idea ,but not quite there to

Worked pretty well at first,but the next time I used it the motor seized after a few minutes,got it spinning again but it has a burnt smell and slows down after a minute, my guess is an inferior motor

ON / OFF Switch Cover is TERRIBLE and UNUSABLE!

The cover for the on / off switch is terrible and makes the unit unusable. Completely disappointed and dissatisfied with this unit because I am unable to control the pump using the switch.
