The lamp arrived well-packaged and in perfect condition; it was easy to unbox and set up. The base is very heavy, as others mention, and quite large, so not the best option for anyone with limited desk or table space where they want to use it. The control sliders are well-placed and easy to “learn”, and take little to no effort to adjust. The size of the lamp “light” is large as well, but the adjustability of both the light and the swing-arm it is mounted on make it easy to find a position that it will work in to light up the area you want without being in the way.
My only disappointment is with the brightness of the light itself. I expected it to be brighter than it actually is, even in the brightest setting. It’s bright, certainly, but not the over-the-top type of brightness that I was hoping for. I use grow lights to start seedlings in the spring, and they are BRIGHT! :-). This lamp, while a marvelous design overall, is dim by comparison where I was hoping it would be comparable.
