It is great having an extra bucket to my Vitamix Foodcycler. This way when one bucket is filled I can put it in the Foodcycler and start filling up the other bucket and I don't have to wait several house for the first bucket to cycle through.

Easy to gunk it up

NEVER put bananas or peels in the it turns into concrete and you have to soak for days and scrape out. My husband has had to take it somewhat and apart and put together by twice. I think it only lasted a couple years. Its not acting right any more

Hi! Most times, the sticky output can be washed out or cleaned in a dishwasher. Try to diversify the mixture of foods in the FoodCycler Bucket. High concentrations of items like carrot peels, fruit like grapes, bananas, or berries, or moist foods like watermelon or beverages can cause these

Great product, but wish bucket were more durable

This would be a "5" except that the lining in the bucket isn't all that durable. So far I have had to replace two since I have owned my FoodCycler. The first was my fault -- I missed a peach pit that got inside it and caused serious damage, requiring soaking every time after use. The second I am still using, alternating with a third I bought, but it is harder to clean because of wear on the lining. The third, most recent, cleans up great, but I do wonder how long it will last.
That said, I LOVE having a means of recycling kitchen vegetable scraps. Each year I fill a large trashcan with the compost, and spread it in my yard in the fall, to overwinter and "season". The yard had lost a lot of topsoil to erosion before we bought the property to build our house years ago. The restoration, begun just a couple of years ago, so far, is working great, though more work needed..
