I was faced with either buying a new battery and charger for my existing string trimmer or a new Skil unit. I wanted this unit to work since I have 5 other of the Skil PWR 20 hand products (Drill, Circular saw, jig saw, fan and sander) and lots of chargers! I am not disappointed. The unit works well and "tap" string advance is working as well.

Very powerful and fairly well balanced. Shaft is about 6 inches too long for me; I am 5 ft-8in tall.
Line loading works well but I found that the line tangled inside the housing one time out of 8 uses.

I am truly impressed with this trimmer! For a battery powered tool, this thing is a beast! Average grass and weeds don't stand a chance on LOW, and on HIGH, tall quack grass and woody weeds are toast. I've done my one acre twice now and only had to tap for new line once!

This is a powerful 2 speed grass trimmer that lasts for a good length of time. Coupled with a 20 volt, 4 ah battery and a fast charger, it is much betrer than i expected it to be. The low power setting is more than enough to do regular every day jobs, and the high setting will do a good job on heavier grass and small weeds. If this trimmer continues to impress me, i think the skil cordlees lawn mower will be my next purchase.
