I love Skil tools. I have several drills, saws and sanders and now I have just about all the lawn and garden tools. This poll saw makes another great addition to my collection. The only thing I haven’t bought yet is the lawn mower, that’s next. I was hesitant about battery powered tools because I figured they wouldn’t last long. It all depends on what you’re doing. I have several batteries and chargers now so that’s not a problem. I’ll tell you what I really love and that’s I don’t have to drag around an extension cord everywhere I go and I don’t have to mix gas and carry a gas can around with me either. This poll saw is great for cutting down limbs that you can’t reach and you have a fear of heights like I do. A step ladder is too tall for me. I like that you can change the angle of the saw on the poll, it’s not real heavy and it’s easy to use. Now let’s get to the things I’m not real crazy about. The poll is not an extension poll. It comes in 3 pieces but the only piece you can eliminate is the middle one because one piece has the saw attached and the other is the trigger mechanism. The blade is only 8” so you can’t cut really large limbs without having to change angles and the 3rd thing is that you can not detach the saw and use it by itself. But other than those 3 little things I love it. It works great and it gets the job done. Would I buy it again? Would I recommend it to a friend? Yes I would. I stand by my Skil tools.

I’m using this primarily for trimming palm tree branches. It works well. Plenty of power and the saw cuts quickly. The auto oiler works well, but oil does get on more than the chain. A quick wipe down after use is all that it requires.
